​PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, Friday, 12^th September 2025 2025 – Colonel Dr Jefri bin Haji Abdul Razak, Chief Dental Services, Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) attended the Section of Defence Forces Dental Services (SDFDS) Annual Meeting in Xi'an and the Fédération Dentaire Internationale Annual World Dental Congress (FDI AWDC) in Shanghai, the People's Republic of China, held from 5^th to 12^th September 2025. Also attending with him was Major Dr Mohammad Hamiz bin Haji Jamil, Senior Dental Officer Berakas RBLF.

The SDFDS Annual Meeting is the main regular forum for international military dental services that includes presentations and discussions on clinical issues, operations and management of military oral health services provision. This year, it was jointly hosted at the Sofitel Xi'an on Renmin Square Hotel by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Stomatological Committee, The Third Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University and the SDFDS Executive Committee, where Colonel Dr Jefri serves as the Secretary, one of its five key positions. The meeting was attended by a total of 48 foreign and 140 local Dental Services Chiefs and Dental Officers from 24 countries.

During the meeting, Colonel Dr Jefri moderated a session themed 'Strategising Service Delivery', where topics discussed included the numerous challenges faced on this topic. Representing Brunei Darussalam, Maj Dr Hamiz delivered a presentation titled 'Dental Age Estimation Methods Applied on Malay and Chinese Populations', where his study looked at the accuracy of dental age estimation methods that may be applicable for the Bruneian population, where no research has been done. The delegates also had the chance to tour the Stomatological Hospital of Xi'an and the largest Museum of Stomatology in the world.

Meanwhile, the FDI AWDC is the flagship annual world congress that presents the latest in current scientific knowledge, clinical practice, technology and development in the oral health field. This year's theme was 'Shaping the Future of Oral Health', capturing the congress's mission to advance the science and practice of dentistry. Held over four days, it was attended by more than 20,000 participants from 130 countries. The RBLF delegation also attended the Dental Trade Exhibition, showcasing the latest in dental technical equipment, treatment modalities, materials and technology currently available on the market in the field of dentistry.

MESYUARAT SECTION DEFENCE FORCES DENTAL SERVICE (SDFDS) DAN FDI ANNUAL WORLD DENTAL CONGRESS (FDI AWDC)

 REPUBLIK RAKYAT CHINA, Jumaat, 12 September 2025 – Kolonel Dr Jefri bin Haji Abdul Razak, Ketua Khidmat Pergigian, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), telah menghadiri Mesyuarat Section of Defence Forces Dental Services (SDFDS) di Xi'an dan Fédération Dentaire Internationale Annual World Dental Congress (FDI AWDC)  di Shanghai, Republik Rakyat China pada 5 hingga 12 September 2025. Turut hadir bersama ialah Mejar Dr Mohammad Hamiz bin Haji Jamil, Pegawai Pergigian Kanan Berakas TDDB.

Mesyuarat SDFDS ini adalah forum utama antarabangsa bagi khidmat pergigian tentera  yang berlangsung setiap tahun dimana ianya merangkumi taklimat serta perbincangan mengenai hal-ehwal klinikal, operasi dan pengurusan, khususnya dalam bidang perkhidmatan pergigian tentera. Tahun ini, ianya dianjurkan bersama di Sofitel Xi'an di Renmin Square Hotel oleh Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Stomatological Committee, The Third Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University dan Komiti Eksekutif SDFDS termasuk Kolonel Dr Jefri selaku Setiausaha iaitu salah seorang daripada lima ahli eksekutif. Mesyuarat tersebut dihadiri oleh seramai 48 asing dan 140 tempatan Ketua-Ketua Khidmat Pergigian dan Pegawai Pergigian dari 24 negara.

Semasa mesyuarat itu, Kolonel Dr Jefri telah dilantik menjadi moderator bagi sesi pembentangan bertemakan 'Strategising Service Delivery' di mana sesi tersebut telah membincangkan isu-isu dan cabaran dihadapi berkenaan topik tersebut. Mewakili Negara Brunei Darussalam, Mejar Dr Hamiz telah menyampaikan pembentangan bertajuk 'Dental Age Estimation Methods Applied on Malay and Chinese Populations' di mana kajian beliau menilai ketepatan kaedah-kaedah anggaran umur pergigian yang boleh digunakan bagi penduduk Brunei yang mana setakat ini tidak ada penyelidikan telah dilakukan. Para delegasi turut berpeluang melawat 'The Stomatological Hospital of Xi'an' dan juga Muzium Stomatologi terbesar di dunia.

Sementara itu, FDI AWDC merupakan kongres utama tahunan sedunia yang mengemukakan ilmu, pengurusan klinikal, teknologi dan perkembangan terkini dalam bidang kesihatan pergigian. Tema tahun ini ialah 'Shaping the Future of Oral Health' dimana ianya merangkumi misi kongres untuk memajukan sains dan penyelenggaraan perkhidmatan pergigian. Diadakan selama empat hari, kongres ini telah dihadiri oleh lebih 20,000 peserta dari 130 negara. Delegasi ABDB juga berpeluang menghadiri Pameran Perdagangan Pergigian yang mempamerkan pelbagai jenis alat kelengkapan teknikal pergigian, kaedah rawatan, ubat-ubatan dan teknologi terkini dalam pasaran rawatan pergigian.
