YOGYAKARTA, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, Friday, 3rd October 2025 – Captain Pengiran Muhammad Masduqi bin Pengiran Haji Damit, Second-in-Command of the Second Squadron Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive, Engineer Regiment, Royal Brunei Land Forces (2 Sqn CBRE Engr Regt RBLF), along with one officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force, had participated in a five-day Regional Workshop on Safety and Nuclear Security Culture Values and Approaches held in Yogyakarta, Republic of Indonesia, from 29th September to 3rd October 2025.
The workshop was hosted by the Government of Indonesia through the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) and organised under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). A total of 23 participants from 13 countries took part in the workshop, which was led by Bouchra Boustani, Co-Scientific Secretary at the Division of Nuclear Safety and Security, IAEA. The workshop is aimed at strengthening participants' understanding of the IAEA's guidance on safety and nuclear security cultures. It also provided a platform to explore the practical application of these principles, including methodologies for conducting self-assessments of safety and nuclear security cultures in their respective countries.


REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON SAFETY AND NUCLEAR SECURITY CULTURE VALUES AND APPROACHES
YOGYAKARTA, REPUBLIK INDONESIA, Jumaat, 3 Oktober 2025 – Kapten Pengiran Muhammad Masduqi bin Pengiran Haji Damit, Penolong Pegawai Memerintah Skuadron Kedua Kimia Biologi Radiologi dan Letupan, Rejimen Jurutera, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (2SKN KBRL RJ TDDB) bersama seorang pegawai dari Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, telah menyertai Regional Workshop on Safety and Nuclear Security Culture Values and Approaches yang berlangsung selama lima hari di Yogyakarta, Republik Indonesia, dari 29 September hingga 3 Oktober 2025.
Bengkel tersebut telah dikendalikan oleh Kerajaan Republik Indonesia melalui Badan Pengawas Tenaga Nuklear, BAPETEN dengan kerjasama International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Seramai 23 peserta dari 13 buah negara telah mengambil bahagian dalam bengkel tersebut yang diketuai oleh Bouchra Boustani, Setiausaha Bersama Saintifik di Bahagian Keselamatan dan Keselamatan Nuklear, IAEA. Bengkel ini adalah bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kefahaman para peserta mengenai panduan IAEA mengenai kepentingan budaya keselamatan dan keselamatan nuklear. Ianya juga menyediakan platform untuk meneroka dalam mengaplikasikan prinsip ini secara praktikal, termasuk metodologi bagi melaksanakan penilaian sendiri terhadap budaya keselamatan dan keselamatan nuklear di negara masing-masing.
