LUMUT CAMP, Thursday, 22 September 2022 - The Final Planning Conference (FPC) for Exercise Mallee Bull 2022 between Third Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (3Bn RBLF) and the 2nd/30th Training Group Australia Army was held from 19 September 2022 until 22 August 2022 at the Officers' Mess, Lumut Camp.
The invited officers from the Australian Army consisted of Captain Elliot Martyn Starling, Warrant Officer 1 Neil Ian Thomas Edwards, Sergeant Peter David Dougherty, and Private Kristy Leigh Joyce, were welcomed by Major Erawan bin Haji Abu Bakar, Commanding Officer of 3Bn RBLF. Also in attendance were Wing Commander Matthew Charles Xerri, Australian Defence Adviser to Brunei Darussalam, Major Pengiran Hamzah Pengiran Ahmad Damit, Assistant Chief of Staff Training (G7) RBLF, and officers from 3Bn RBLF.
The FPC continued with the planning of conduct of the exercise followed by a visit to the training area and infrastructure that will be used during the exercise at 3Bn RBLF. The FPC concluded with an official dinner at Tarindak D'Seni in Bandar Seri Begawan, followed by the signing ceremony of the Terms of Reference for Exercise Mallee Bull 2022 between the representatives of RBLF and the Australian Army.
The objective of the exercise includes strengthening the military relationship between the two countries, as well as providing interaction opportunities, especially for the personnel to foster camaraderie, increase professionalism and knowledge sharing between the two countries. The exercise will take place between 02 November 2022 to 14 November 2022.

PERKHEMAHAN LUMUT, Khamis, 22 September 2022 –Final Planning Excercise (FPC) Eksesais Mallee Bull 2022 antara Batalion Ketiga Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (3Bn TDDB) dan 2nd/30th Training Group Australia Army telah berlangsung dari 19 September 2022 sehingga 22 September 2022 bertempat di Mes Pegawai, Perkhemahan Lumut.
Pegawai jemputan dari Australian Army terdiri daripada Captain Elliot Martyn Starling, Warrant Officer 1 Neil Ian Thomas Edwards, Sergeant Peter David Dougherty dan Private Kristy Leigh Joyce, yang telah disambut oleh Mejar Erawan bin Haji Abu Bakar, Pegawai Pemerintah 3Bn TDDB. Turut hadir ialah Wing Commander Matthew Charles Xerri, Penasihat Pertahanan Australia kepada Negara Brunei Darussalam, Mejar Pengiran Hamzah Pengiran Ahmad Damit, Penolong Ketua Staf, Latihan (G7) TDDB, dan pegawai-pegawai daripada 3Bn TDDB.
FPC diteruskan dengan perancangan pengendalian eksesais diikuti dengan lawatan ke kawasan latihan dan infrastruktur yang akan digunakan semasa eksesais di 3Bn TDDB. FPC diakhiri dengan Majlis Makan Malam di Tarindak D'Seni Bandar Seri Begawan, diikuti dengan majlis menandatangani Terma Rujukan untuk Eksesais Mallee Bull 2022 antara wakil TDDB dan wakil Australian Army.
Objektif latihan termasuk mengeratkan hubungan ketenteraan kedua-dua negara, serta memberikan peluang berinteraksi khususnya bagi anggota-anggota bagi memupuk sifat setiakawan, meningkatkan professionalisme dan perkongsian pengetahuan antara kedua-dua angkatan tentera. Latihan tersebut akan berlangsung pada 02 November 2022 hingga 14 November 2022.
