BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM, Friday, 27th March 2026 – Lieutenant Colonel Dr Hajah Norinda binti Haji Tengah, Deputy Chief of Dental Services (Clinical), Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF), has attended the 2026 Annual Scientific Conference of the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS), held from 25th to 27th March 2026 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Also in attendance was Major Dr Syazirah Kuan, Senior Dental Officer of RBLF Dental Services. The conference was officiated by Dr Rhian Jones, the BAOS President and was attended by approximately 700 delegates comprising oral surgeons and trained dental nurses.
Held under the theme “Across the Spectrum: Two Tiers, One Service," the conference featured a comprehensive academic programme covering the full spectrum of oral surgery practice as well as current issues, including the management of oro-antral fistula, challenges in the medical supply chain, professional well-being and the prevention of burnout, as well as informed consent and legal considerations. The conference also included paper presentations, academic posters, and exhibitions showcasing the latest dental technical equipment, treatment modalities, pharmaceuticals, and technologies related to oral surgery. The conference concluded with a closing address by the newly appointed BAOS President, Dr Adrian Thorpe.
PERSIDANGAN SAINTIFIK TAHUNAN BRITISH ASSOCIATION OF ORAL SURGEONS 2026
BIRMINGHAM, UNITED KINGDOM, Jumaat, 27 Mac 2026 – Leftenan Kolonel Dr Hjh Norinda binti Haji Tengah, Timbalan Ketua Khidmat Pergigian (Klinikal), Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), telah menghadiri Persidangan Saintifik Tahunan 2026 British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS) yang berlangsung dari 25 hingga 27 Mac 2026 di Birmingham, United Kingdom. Turut serta ialah Mejar Dr Syazirah Kuan, Pegawai Pergigian Kanan Khidmat Pergigian TDDB. Persidangan tersebut telah dirasmikan oleh Dr Rhian Jones, Presiden BAOS dan dihadiri oleh kira-kira 700 delegasi yang terdiri daripada pakar bedah mulut dan jururawat pergigian terlatih.
Persidangan yang bertemakan “Across the Spectrum: Two Tiers, One Service" ini menampilkan program akademik komprehensif yang merangkumi keseluruhan spektrum amalan pembedahan mulut serta isu-isu semasa termasuk rawatan fistula oro-antral, cabaran rantaian bekalan perubatan, kesejahteraan profesional dan pencegahan keletihan kerja (burnout), serta aspek persetujuan bermaklumat dan perundangan. Persidangan ini turut menampilkan pembentangan kertas kerja, poster akademik serta pameran teknologi, peralatan teknikal pergigian, kaedah rawatan dan ubat-ubatan terkini berkaitan bidang pembedahan mulut. Persidangan diakhiri dengan ucapan penutup oleh Presiden BAOS yang baharu, Dr Adrian Thorpe.
