PROJECT 98 - EMED

KUALA LUMPUR, Friday, 6th February 2026 – Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) Ranald bin Mohd Faizal from the Medical Services, Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF), together with representatives from Brunei Darussalam's medical agencies, had attended the second regional meeting for the European Union Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Centres of Excellence (EU CBRN CoE) Project 98 (P98) in Strengthening CBRN Medical Emergency Preparedness and Response in Southeast Asia (EMED) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The meeting, co-hosted by Malaysia and the EU, gathers 114 experts and participants from the Southeast Asian region. The three-day meeting serves as a strategic platform for CBRN experts from the EU and Southeast Asia, with the support of international organisations, namely United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and International Science and Technology Centre (ISTC), to streamline medical response coordination and strengthen cross-border cooperation in this important field.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jumaat, 6 Februari 2026 – Leftenan Kolonel (Dr) Ranald bin Mohd Faizal daripada Khidmat Perubatan Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), bersama wakil-wakil daripada agensi perubatan Negara Brunei Darussalam, telah menghadiri Mesyuarat Serantau Kedua bagi European Union Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Centres of Excellence (EU CBRN CoE) Project 98 (P98). dalam Memperkukuh Kesediaan dan Tindak Balas Kecemasan Perubatan CBRN di Asia Tenggara (EMED) bertempat di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Mesyuarat tersebut dianjurkan bersama oleh Malaysia dan EU, dan telah mengumpulkan seramai 114 pakar dan peserta dari rantau Asia Tenggara. Mesyuarat tiga hari itu berfungsi sebagai platform strategik bagi pakar CBRN dari EU dan Asia Tenggara, dengan sokongan organisasi antarabangsa, iaitu United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), dan Pusat Sains dan Teknologi Antarabangsa (ISTC), untuk menyelaraskan tindak balas perubatan dan mengukuhkan kerjasama rentas sempadan dalam bidang berkenaan.
