ROYAL BRUNEI LAND FORCE JOINED THE NATIONWIDE BEACH CLEANING CAMPAIGN FOR MARINE DEBRIS “COASTAL MARVEL”

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM, Wednesday, 13th November 2024 – The Ministry of Defence participated in the nationwide beach cleaning campaign for Marine Debris “Coastal Marvel" to support the Master Committee on Cleanliness Issues (JIIK) in protecting the environment of Brunei Darussalam. The campaign was held simultaneously at 11 beaches across three districts namely Jerudong, Berakas Forest Reserve, Mangsalut, Meragang, Muara, Danau, Seri Kenangan, Pengkalan Pinang, Penanjong, Kuala Belait, Seria and Lumut Recreational Beach. Brigadier General Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) joined the clean-up at the Kuala Belait Beach, and all activities were also participated by the District Officers, Heads of Mukims and Villages, as well as residents from respective districts.

A total of 897 RBLF personnel were involved in the cleaning efforts at six out of the 11 beaches, with 3,038 kilogrammes of rubbish waste were collected. Marine debris remain one of the environmental issues at national and international levels, and such initiatives play a vital role in raising public awareness and fostering a sense of responsibility towards protecting the coast.


TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI SERTAI KEMPEN KEBERSIHAN SENEGARA PERSISIRAN PANTAI BAGI SERPIHAN LAUT “COASTAL MARVEL"

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM, Rabu, 13 November 2024 – Kementerian Pertahanan telah mengendalikan Kempen Kebersihan Senegara Persisiran Pantai bagi Serpihan Laut “Coastal Marvel" dalam menyokong inisiatif Jawatankuasa Induk Isu-Isu Kebersihan untuk melindungi alam sekitar Negara Brunei Darussalam. Kempen tersebut diadakan secara serentak di 11 pantai di tiga daerah iaitu Jerudong, Hutan Simpan Berakas, Mangsalut, Meragang, Muara, Danau, Seri Kenangan, Pengkalan Pinang, Penanjong, Kuala Belait, Seria dan Pantai Rekreasi Lumut. Brigedier Jeneral Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Pemerintah Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) menyertai pembersihan di Pantai Kuala Belait, dan semua aktiviti-aktiviti tersebut juga turut disertai oleh Pegawai-pegawai Daerah, Ketua-ketua Mukim dan Kampung, serta penduduk dari daerah masing-masing.

Seramai 897 anggota TDDB telah terlibat dalam usaha pembersihan di enam buah daripada 11 pantai dengan 3,038 kilogram sisa sampah berjaya dikumpulkan. Serpihan marin kekal menjadi salah satu isu alam sekitar di peringkat kebangsaan dan antarabangsa, dan inisiatif sedemikian memainkan peranan penting dalam meningkatkan kesedaran awam dan memupuk rasa tanggungjawab ke arah melindungi pantai.
