BERAKAS GARRISON, Wednesday, 24th June 2026 – The Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) hosted the 7th Brunei-Philippine Army Working Group (7th BRU-PHIL AWG) via Video Teleconference (VTC) with the Philippine Army held at the Officers' Mess, Berakas Garrison. The AWG was co-chaired by Colonel Erwan bin Haji Ibrahim, Chief of Staff RBLF, and Colonel Diosdado Carlos D. Pambid, Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans G5, Philippine Army. Also in attendance were Colonel Garry L. Atienza Paf (CSC), Defense and Armed Forces Attaché of the Republic of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam, representatives from various RBLF sub-units and a delegation from the Philippine Army who participated virtually.
Among the agendas discussed includes the progress on the bilateral programs and activities between both armies for the year 2026 and the upcoming year, such as training and exchange of visits. During the meeting, both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and discussed other potential areas of future cooperation. The BRU-PHIL AWG is a significant platform in fostering professional development and networking, held once a year by both countries on a rotational basis. The last meeting was held on 18th June 2025 in the Republic of the Philippines.
MESYUARAT KUMPULAN KERJA DARAT BRUNEI-FILIPINA KE-7
BERAKAS GARISON, Rabu, 24 Jun 2026 – Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah menghoskan Mesyuarat Kumpulan Kerja Darat Brunei-Filipina ke-7 (7th Brunei-Philippine Army Working Group, BRU-PHIL AWG) secara maya bersama Tentera Darat Filipina yang berlangsung di Mes Pegawai, Berakas Garison. Mesyuarat tersebut dipengerusikan bersama oleh Kolonel Erwan bin Haji Ibrahim, Ketua Staf TDDB, dan Kolonel Diosdado Carlos D. Pambid, Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans G5, Tentera Darat Filipina. Turut hadir ialah Kolonel Garry L. Atienza Paf (CSC), Atase Pertahanan dan Angkatan Tentera Republik Filipina ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, wakil dari pelbagai sub-unit TDDB dan delegasi dari Tentera Darat Filipina yang menyertai secara maya.
Antara agenda yang dibincangkan termasuk perkembangan program dan aktiviti dua hala antara kedua-dua tentera bagi tahun 2026 dan tahun yang akan datang seperti latihan dan pertukaran lawatan. Semasa mesyuarat tersebut, kedua-dua pihak juga mengesahkan komitmen untuk mengukuhkan lagi hubungan dua hala dan membincangkan potensi kerjasama di masa akan datang. BRU-PHIL AWG merupakan platform penting dalam memupuk pembangunan profesional dan rangkaian, yang diadakan setahun sekali oleh kedua-dua buah negara secara bergilir. Mesyuarat ini kali terakhir diadakan pada 18 Jun 2025 di Republik Filipina.
