20 RBLF OFFICERS COMPLETED JUNIOR OFFICERS DEVELOPMENT COURSE

TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 25th May 2026 – Twenty officers from the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF) completed the Junior Officers Development Course (JODC) in a closing ceremony held at the Auditorium, Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF). Conducted over six weeks from 13th April to 25th May 2026, the course involved 34 officers from across the RBAF units, including four officers from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and 10 officers from the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF).

The closing ceremony was officiated by Colonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Commandant of the DA RBAF, and attended by senior officers, directing staff and invited guests. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and verses 8 to 11 of Surah Al-Ma'idah led by Lieutenant Shaikh Sharul Azhar bin Shaikh Hj Awang Ahmad, followed by a speech from the Commandant. In his speech, the Commandant highlighted that the course reflects the RBAF's continued commitment towards developing competent, adaptable and professional junior officers capable of leading effectively in increasingly complex operational and security environments. He further emphasised that the course plays an important role in preparing officers to undertake greater responsibilities through the strengthening of leadership skills, military knowledge and professional confidence.

The ceremony then proceeded with the presentation of certificates and excellence awards, with Lieutenant (U) Mohd Khalid Wassadi Salleh bin Mahmud from the RBAirF receiving the Best Overall Student Award, and the Best Research Essay Award being presented to Lieutenant Tan Pauline from the RBLF Headquarters. As part of the career progression pathway for officers holding the rank of Lieutenant, JODC serves as a compulsory professional development course prior to promotion to Captain. Throughout the course, participants attended modules on Leadership, Foundation Skills, International Security, National Security and Military Studies. Participants also underwent leadership reflection activities, team-building exercises, as well as discussion and presentation sessions aimed at enhancing communication skills, confidence and teamwork.

 

20 PEGAWAI TDDB TAMAT JUNIOR OFFICERS DEVELOPMENT COURSE

 TANAH JAMBU, Isnin, 25 Mei 2026 – Seramai 20 pegawai Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah menamatkan Junior Officers Development Course (JODC) Siri dalam majlis penutup yang diadakan di Auditorium Akademi Pertahanan, Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (AP ABDB). Kursus yang dilaksanakan selama enam minggu bermula dari 13 April hingga 25 Mei 2026 itu telah disertai oleh 34 pegawai dari unit-unit ABDB, termasuk empat pegawai daripada Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) dan 10 pegawai daripada Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB).​

Majlis penutup kursus telah disempurnakan oleh Kolonel (U) Azmie Iskandar bin Ariffin, Komandan AP ABDB, dan dihadiri oleh pegawai-pegawai kanan, tenaga pengajar serta jemputan khas. Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan ayat-ayat suci Surah Al-Ma'idah, ayat 8 hingga 11, yang dipimpin oleh Leftenan Shaikh Sharul Azhar bin Shaikh Hj Awang Ahmad, diikuti dengan ucapan daripada Komandan. Dalam ucapannya, beliau menekankan bahawa kursus tersebut mencerminkan komitmen berterusan ABDB dalam melahirkan pegawai muda yang kompeten, profesional dan berdaya saing serta mampu memimpin secara berkesan dalam persekitaran operasi dan keselamatan yang semakin kompleks. Beliau turut menegaskan bahawa kursus tersebut memainkan peranan penting dalam mempersiapkan pegawai untuk memikul tanggungjawab yang lebih besar melalui pengukuhan kemahiran kepimpinan, pengetahuan ketenteraan dan keyakinan profesional.​

Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil tamat kursus dan anugerah cemerlang dengan Leftenan (U) Mohd Khalid Wassadi Salleh bin Mahmud dari TUDB menerima Anugerah Penuntut Terbaik Keseluruhan, dan Anugerah Esei Kaji Selidik Terbaik telah disampaikan kepada Leftenan Tan Pauline dari Markas TDDB. Sebagai sebahagian daripada laluan perkembangan kerjaya bagi pegawai berpangkat Leftenan, JODC merupakan kursus pembangunan profesional yang wajib diikuti sebelum kenaikan pangkat ke Kapten. Sepanjang kursus tersebut, para peserta telah mengikuti modul berkaitan Kepimpinan, Kemahiran Asas, Keselamatan Antarabangsa, Keselamatan Negara dan Pengajian Ketenteraan. Kursus tersebut turut merangkumi aktiviti refleksi kepimpinan, latihan pembinaan pasukan serta sesi perbincangan dan pembentangan yang bertujuan meningkatkan kemahiran komunikasi, keyakinan diri dan semangat kerja berpasukan.
