ONG SUM PING, Friday, 08 May 2026 - Medical Services, Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF), was invited to deliver a talk during a seminar titled “Borderless Opportunities: Exploring Different Career Paths in Nursing" held at JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS). Representing Medical Services RBLF were Lieutenant Doctor Wan Nurul Naszeerah binti Mohammed Zainal Abidin Ariff, Defence Health Unit Officer, alongside Staff Sergeant Haji Md Najib bin Haji Ibrahim, Senior Medical Instructor.
During the presentation entitled “Caring for the Health of the Defence Community: Career Pathways in Medical Services RBLF", the speakers shared insights into their professional experiences and career pathways within military healthcare services with third-year undergraduate nursing students. The session also highlighted the development of military healthcare services, beginning with the establishment of the first Medical Reception Station at Berakas Garrison and its evolution into the current defence healthcare system in supporting the defence community.
The students were also introduced to the various roles and responsibilities of Medical Services RBLF, including healthcare services, operational medical support, force health protection, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR), and the development of defence healthcare capabilities. In addition, the session provided exposure to career opportunities for both officers and other ranks within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The seminar concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session focusing on healthcare leadership, military medical operations, and the role of defence healthcare services in supporting operational readiness and community wellbeing. Also present during the seminar was Dr Rachelle Sarmiento, Dean of JCHS.



KHIDMAT PERUBATAN DAN KESIHATAN TDDB KONGSI LALUAN KERJAYA DI JPMC COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES
ONG SUM PING, Jumaat, 08 Mei 2026 - Khidmat Perubatan dan Kesihatan, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), telah dijemput untuk menyampaikan taklimat semasa seminar bertajuk “Borderless Opportunities: Exploring Different Career Paths in Nursing" yang diadakan di JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS).
Mewakili Khidmat Perubatan dan Kesihatan TDDB ialah Leftenan Doktor Wan Nurul Naszeerah binti Mohammed Zainal Abidin Ariff, Pegawai Unit Kesihatan Pertahanan bersama Staf Sarjan Haji Md Najib bin Haji Ibrahim, Jurulatih Perubatan Kanan.
Melalui pembentangan bertajuk “Caring for the Health of the Defence Community: Career Pathways in Medical Services RBLF", para penyampai telah berkongsi pengalaman profesional serta laluan kerjaya dalam perkhidmatan kesihatan ketenteraan kepada para pelajar ijazah sarjana muda kejururawatan tahun ketiga. Sesi tersebut turut mengetengahkan perkembangan perkhidmatan kesihatan ketenteraan bermula daripada penubuhan Medical Reception Station pertama di Berakas Garison sehingga berkembang menjadi sistem penjagaan kesihatan pertahanan masa kini dalam menyokong komuniti pertahanan.
Para pelajar juga diperkenalkan kepada pelbagai peranan dan tanggungjawab Khidmat Perubatan dan Kesihatan TDDB termasuk perkhidmatan kesihatan, sokongan perubatan operasi, perlindungan kesihatan anggota, bantuan kemanusiaan dan bencana alam (HADR), serta pembangunan keupayaan kesihatan pertahanan. Di samping itu, sesi tersebut turut memberikan pendedahan mengenai peluang kerjaya bagi pegawai dan anggota lain-lain pangkat di Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Seminar tersebut diakhiri dengan sesi soal jawab interaktif yang menyentuh mengenai kepimpinan kesihatan, operasi perubatan ketenteraan serta peranan perkhidmatan kesihatan pertahanan dalam menyokong kesiapsiagaan operasi dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Turut hadir semasa seminar tersebut ialah Dr Rachelle Sarmiento, Dekan JCHS.
