GADONG, Thursday, 26 September 2024 - 10 Senior Officers from the Royal Brunei Land Force were among the 29 participants who completed the 19th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officials (EDPSGO) in Public Policy and Management, hosted by the Ministry of Defence. The closing event took place at the Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). Also in attendance were High Commissioners and Ambassadors from partner countries, Permanent Secretaries from other ministries, the Acting Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Defence, the Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Services Commanders and Acting Service Commander, Joint Force Commander, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) from the National University of Singapore representatives, Directors and Senior Officers from the Ministry of Defence, and other relevant stakeholders.
The Commander of the RBAF in his speech highlighted the importance of senior officers in broadening their perspectives and skills in order to effectively manage the complex relationship between defence and the nation's overall governmental, economic and social goals that shapes its future. He also mentioned that the programme's diversity in terms of curriculum design and participants background, reflects the Whole-of-Nation approach towards addressing today's various challenges. He further emphasised the necessity to act with a sense of urgency and being proactive in implementing innovative public policies, as part of the collective efforts to achieve the goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035.
The 19th EDPSGO is a 12 weeks programme which started from 09 July to 26 September 2024, organised by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies in collaboration with the LKYSPP, National University of Singapore, as the academic provider. The aim of such programme is to equip participants with the required skills, knowledge and experiences in public policy, administration and management.

GADONG, Khamis, 26 September 2024 - 10 Pegawai-pegawai Kanan Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei adalah antara 29 peserta yang menamatkan Program Perkembangan Eksekutif (EDP) Siri ke-19 bagi Pegawai-pegawai Kanan Kerajaan (EDPSGO) ke-19 2 dalam Dasar Awam dan Pengurusan anjuran Kementerian Pertahanan. Acara penutup berlangsung di Hotel Centrepoint, Gadong.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat Majlis ialah Yang Mulia Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB). Turut hadir ialah Pesuruhjaya-Pesuruhjaya Tinggi dan Duta-Duta dari negara-negara rakan sahabat, Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap dari Kementerian-Kementerian lain, Pemangku Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan, Timbalan Pesuruhjaya Polis Diraja Brunei, Pemerintah-Pemerintah Angkatan Tentera dan Pemangku Pemerintah Angkatan Tentera, Pemangku Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama, wakil-wakil dari Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore, Pengarah-Pengarah dan Pegawai[1]Pegawai Kanan dari Kementerian Pertahanan, dan wakil-wakil daripada pihak berkepentingan yang lain.
Pemerintah ABDB dalam ucapannya menekankan kepentingan Pegawai-pegawai Kanan dalam meluaskan perspektif dan kemahiran untuk menguruskan dengan berkesan hubungan kompleks antara pertahanan dan matlamat keseluruhan kerajaan, ekonomi dan sosial negara yang membentuk masa depannya. Beliau juga menyatakan bahawa kepelbagaian program dari segi reka bentuk kurikulum dan latar belakang peserta, mencerminkan pendekatan Whole-of-Nation ke arah menangani pelbagai cabaran masa kini. Beliau seterusnya menekankan keperluan untuk bertindak dengan pantas dan bersikap proaktif dalam melaksanakan dasar-dasar awam yang inovatif sebagai sebahagian daripada usaha kolektif untuk mencapai matlamat Wawasan Brunei 2035.
EDPSGO ke-19 ialah program 12 minggu yang bermula dari 09 Julai hingga 26 September 2024, anjuran Institut Pengajian Pertahanan dan Strategik Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah dengan kerjasama LKYSPP, National University of Singapore, selaku pembekal akademik.
