Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammad Ezan Sazali bin Haji Osman began his military career when he was enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in May 2004. After undergone his Basic Military Training at Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF), he continued his Officer Cadet Training at Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute (SAFTI) Foxtrot Wing and was commissioned as an Officer in 2005. 

Throughout his military career, Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammad Ezan held various command and staff appointments in RBAF. His appointments includes; Platoon Commander of Bravo Company, Second Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (B Coy 2Bn RBLF) in 2005; Assistant Chief Instructor at TI RBAF in 2009; Second-in-Command of School of Infantry, TI RBAF in 2011, Officer Commanding Alpha Company (A Coy 3Bn RBLF) in 2012 and Officer Commanding Recruit Company, TI RBAF in 2015. After completing his Command and Staff Course at Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces in 2018, he held the appointment of Second in Command of 2Bn RBLFand was appointed as Head of Doctrine Royal Brunei Land Force on 13  November 2020. He assumed the appointment of the Commanding Officer 2Bn RBLF on 01 November 2021.

Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammad Ezan has attended and participated in various military courses, exercises, shooting competitions locally and overseas throughout his service. Among the overseas courses he attended are Company Tactics Course, Advanced Infantry Officer Course at SAFTI in 2013, Kursus Bahasa Indonesia at Pusat Pendidikan Pengetahuan Militer Umum Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat (PUSDIK PENGMILUM TNI AD), Pendidikan Lanjutan Perwira ll (DIKLAPA 2) at Pusat Pendidikan Infanteri (PUSDIKIF) in 2016. He was given the opportunity to participate at Staff Exercise (STAFFEX) for EX SHANTI DOOT 3 at Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) in 2012. He was also given the opportunity to be part of and managed the Brunei Shooting Team for the ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet competitions (AARM) in the Philippines (2008), Myanmar (2013), Vietnam (2014) and also the Australian Army Skills at Arms Meet (AASAM) in 2013.

Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammad Ezan Sazali's highest qualifications include BA (Hons) in Geography and South East Asia Studies from University Brunei Darussalam and Postgraduate Diploma from Massey University. He is married to Pengiran Seri Hasreena@Diana binti Pengiran Haji Hashim and they are blessed with a daughter and two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, running, callisthenics and listening to music.
