PENANJONG GARISSON, Tuesday, 22 February 2022 – Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) participated in a Virtual Workshop on COVID-19 Vaccines and Therapeutics Development that was jointly hosted by the Network of ASEAN CBR Defence Experts’ Secretariat and the National Authority for the Prohibition of Chemical, Nuclear, Biological and Radiological Weapons (NACW) of Cambodia. The one-day workshop was participated by all CBR Defence and technical experts from the 10 ASEAN Member States.

Representing the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces were Major (Dr) Siti Nur’raheemah binti PDM Haji Musa, Medical Officer Medical Services RBLF and Captain Nur Shazeerah binti Radinkanoro, Second-in-Command of Chemical Biological Radiological and Explosive Defence Unit, Support Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force (CBRE Def Unit, Sp Bn RBLF).

The workshop commenced with a welcoming address by Major General OEUR Channa, PhD, Deputy Secretary-General, General Secretariat of the National Authority for the Prohibition of Chemical, Nuclear, Biological and Radiological Weapons of Cambodia. The workshop continued with a series of discussions by senior scientists and professors from related fields followed by presentations by respective ASEAN Member States (AMS). During the afternoon session, the workshop also conducted round-robin discussions with fellow AMS on their respective presentations and on the appropriate type of information to be uploaded for the web portal. The workshop concluded with closing remarks by the Head of Secretariat, Network of ASEAN CBR Defence Experts where he emphasised the importance of information-sharing and open discussions within AMS.

The establishment of the Network of ASEAN CBR Defence Experts was adopted at the 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) in October 2018 in which one of the objectives were to function as a single node for Regional CBR defence experts to make contact and share information on best practices, expertise and experiences on common CBR threats.

 

TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI SERTAI BENGKEL COVID-19 VACCINES AND THERAPEUTICS DEVELOPMENT SECARA MAYA

PENANJONG GARISON, Selasa, 22 Februari 2022 – Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah menghadiri Bengkel COVID-19 Vaccines and Therapeutics Development yang telah dipengerusikan bersama oleh sekretariat Network of ASEAN Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) Defence Expert dan National Authority for the Prohibition of Chemical, Nuclear, Biological and Radiological Weapons (NACW) of Cambodiasecara maya. Bengkel selama satu hari itu telahpun dihadiri oleh wakil-wakil teknikal dan kepakaran Pertahanan Kimia, Biologi dan Radiologi daripada 10 Negara-negara ASEAN.

Hadir bagi mewakili Kementerian Pertahanan dan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei ialah Mejar (Dr) Siti Nur’raheemah binti PDM Haji Musa, Pegawai Perubatan Khidmat Perubatan dan Kesihatan TDDB dan Kapten Nur Shazeerah binti Radinkanoro, Penolong Pegawai Memerintah Unit Pertahanan Kimia Biologi Radiologi Dan Letupan, Batalion Bantu TDDB (KBRL Bn Bantu TDDB).

Bengkel tersebut dimulakan dengan kata-kata aluan daripada Mejar General OEUR Channa, PhDDeputy Secretary General, General Secretariat of the National Authority for the Prohibition of Chemical, Nuclear, Biological and Radiological Weapons daripada Kemboja. Bengkel tersebut diteruskan dengan sesi perkongsian pengalaman oleh senior scientist dan profesor dalam jurusan yang berkaitan dan diteruskan dengan pembentangan oleh wakil-wakil Negara ASEAN (AMS). Pada sesi petang, bengkel tersebut membukakan perbincangan secara berpusingan kepada AMS mengenai pembentangan yang telah dibentangkan dan informasi yang sesuai untuk dimuatnaik dalam portal web. Bengkel tersebut diakhiri dengan ucapan penutup oleh Head of SecretariatNetwork of ASEAN CBR Defence Experts yang mana beliau menekankan agar AMS akan sentiasa berhubung untuk berbincang dan berkongsi pengetahuan dan pengalaman.

Network of ASEAN CBR Defence Experts telah ditubuhkan pada bulan Oktober 2018 melalui hasil perbincangan Mesyuarat 12th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) yang mana salah satu objektif platform tersebut ialah untuk berfungsi sebagai nod tunggal bagi pakar pertahanan KBR serantau untuk berhubung, dan berkongsi maklumat, kepakaran dan pengalaman dalam acaman KBR.
