BERAKAS GARRISON, Tuesday, 06 October 2020 – The 26th iteration of Brunei – United States Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Exercise began yesterday involving all the services and Joint Force Headquarters of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
This year’s concept of exercise will be in two phases, the Shore Phase from 05th until 06th October 2020 and the Sea Phase from 07th until 08th October 2020.The Royal Brunei Land Force participated in the Shore Phase involving Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) on Riverine Operation, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Medical and USMC/RBLF Senior Leadership Discussion which was conducted via Virtual Tele-Conferencing (VTC).
CARAT is a bilateral exercise series between the United States Navy (USN) and the US Marine Corps (USMC) with the armed forces of nine partner nations, including Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Timor Leste. Brunei Darussalam has been a CARAT partner since 1995.

Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) kali ke-26 di antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Amerika Syarikat telah bermula sejak kelmarin yang melibatkan semua angkatan tentera dan Markas Angkatan Bersama Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Konsep latihan pada tahun ini terbahagi kepada dua fasa iaitu
Shore Phase bermula 05 hingga 06 Oktober 2020 dan
Sea Phase bermula 07 hingga 08 Oktober 2020. Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) ikut serta di dalam
Shore Phase iaitu

CARAT adalah siri latihan dua hala antara Tentera Laut Amerika Syarikat (USN) dan Amerika Syarikat Kor Marin (USMC) dengan angkatan tentera dari sembilan negara iaitu Bangladesh, Negara Brunei Darussalam, Kemboja, Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Singapura, Thailand dan Timor Leste. Negara Brunei Darussalam telah terlibat di dalam Eksesais CARAT sejak tahun 1995.
