REPUBLIC SINGAPORE, Friday, 10th October 2025 – The Singapore Army hosted the first Singapore-Brunei Army Working Group (AWG) meeting held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), Republic of Singapore from 8th to 11th October 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Colonel Danny Poh, Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Training)/Deputy Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Singapore Army, and Lieutenant Colonel Erwan bin Haji Ibrahim, the Chief of Staff Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF).
The discussions focused on reviewing the future training, such as bilateral exercises, professional exchanges and capacity development, while exploring new areas of collaboration between the two armies. Lieutenant Colonel Erwan also had the opportunity to have a bilateral call with Brigadier General Wong Shi Ming, Chief of Staff – General Staff of the Singapore Army, at the sidelines of the meeting. The inaugural AWG marks a significant milestone and reflects the shared commitment of the RBLF and the Singapore Army to strengthen the existing defence relations.
MESYUARAT KUMPULAN KERJA DARAT PERTAMA ANTARA SINGAPURA-BRUNEI
REPUBLIK SINGAPURA, Jumaat, 10 Oktober 2025 – Tentera Darat Singapura telah mengendalikan Mesyuarat Kumpulan Kerja Darat Singapura-Brunei pertama bertempat di Kementerian Pertahanan, Republik Singapura dari 8 hingga 11 Oktober 2025. Mesyuarat tersebut telah dipengerusikan bersama oleh Kolonel Danny Poh, Assistant Chief of the General Staff (Training)/Deputy Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, dan Leftenan Kolonel Erwan bin Haji Ibrahim, Ketua Staf Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB).
Perbincangan tertumpu kepada pengemaskinian latihan yang akan datang, seperti eksesais dua hala, pertukaran profesional dan pembangunan kapasiti, disamping meneroka bidang kerjasama baharu antara kedua-dua tentera darat. Leftenan Kolonel Erwan juga berpeluang mengadakan perjumpaan dua hala bersama Brigedier Jeneral Wong Shi Ming, Chief of Staff – General Staff of the Singapore Army semasa mesyuarat tersebut. Kumpulan Kerja Darat yang pertama ini menandakan pencapaian yang signifikan dan mencerminkan komitmen bersama TDDB dan Tentera Singapura dalam mengukuhkan hubungan pertahanan yang sedia ada.
