BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday, 9th July 2026 – Dental Services, Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF), held the closing ceremony for the Radiation Safety Awareness (RSA) Course at the Ibnu Sina Lecture Hall, Medical Complex Building, Medical Reception Station (MRS), Bolkiah Garrison. A total of 31 personnel participated in the course, which was conducted from 8th to 9th July 2026. The closing ceremony was officiated by Colonel Mohd Roasri Erwan bin Haji Tasrif, Head of Inspectorate Unit, RBLF.
The event commenced with remarks by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Azhan bin Haji Ahmad, Deputy Chief Dental Services (Support), who also serves as the Radiation Protection Officer for the Ministry of Defence, followed by the presentation of certificates to all course participants by the Head of Inspectorate Unit. Also in attendance were senior officers from Dental Services, RBLF.
Throughout the course, participants were equipped with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in radiation safety, risk management, and the safe operation of radiation-emitting equipment to ensure that the competencies of all General Radiation Workers (GRWs) continue to be strengthened in carrying out their duties.
The inaugural RSA Course, conducted internally by Dental Services, RBLF, brought together military personnel and civilian staff from the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces to strengthen their understanding of radiation safety principles and regulatory requirements. The course was organised in compliance with the mandatory requirements of the Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA), which require all General Radiation Workers (GRWs) to undergo radiation safety training at least once every three years.
MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS RADIATION SAFETY AWARENESS
BOLKIAH GARISON, Khamis, 9 Julai 2026 – Khidmat Pergigian, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), telah mengadakan Majlis Penutup Kursus Radiation Safety Awareness (RSA) yang berlangsung di Dewan Kuliah Ibnu Sina, Bangunan Kompleks Perubatan, Medical Reception Station (MRS), Bolkiah Garison. Seramai 31 anggota telah menyertai kursus tersebut yang diadakan dari 8 hingga 9 Julai 2026. Majlis penutup tersebut telah disempurnakan oleh Kolonel Mohd Roasri Erwan bin Haji Tasrif, Ketua Unit Inspektorat TDDB.
Majlis dimulakan dengan ucapan yang disampaikan oleh Leftenan Kolonel Mohammad Azhan bin Haji Ahmad, Timbalan Ketua Khidmat Pergigian (Bantuan), yang juga merupakan Radiation Protection Officer bagi Kementerian Pertahanan, diikuti dengan penyampaian sijil kepada semua peserta kursus oleh Ketua Unit Inspektorat. Turut hadir ialah pegawai-pegawai kanan Khidmat Pergigian TDDB.
Sepanjang kursus, para peserta didedahkan kepada pengetahuan dan kemahiran asas berkaitan keselamatan radiasi, pengurusan risiko serta prosedur pengendalian peralatan yang mengeluarkan sinaran secara selamat bagi memastikan kompetensi setiap General Radiation Worker (GRW) terus diperkukuhkan dalam melaksanakan tugas.
Kursus RSA yang julung kali dikendalikan secara dalaman oleh Khidmat Pergigian TDDB ini telah menghimpunkan anggota tentera serta kakitangan awam daripada Kementerian Pertahanan dan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei bagi memperkukuhkan kefahaman mengenai prinsip keselamatan radiasi serta keperluan perundangan yang berkaitan. Kursus ini turut dilaksanakan selaras dengan keperluan mandatori yang ditetapkan oleh Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA), yang mewajibkan semua General Radiation Worker (GRW) menghadiri latihan keselamatan radiasi sekurang-kurangnya sekali dalam tempoh tiga tahun.
