PENANJONG GARISSON, Monday 08 April 2019 – The opening ceremony of the Land Force Skills At Arms Meet (LFSAAM) took place today at the Binturan Shooting Range. The LFSAAM will take place from 08 April until 16 April 2019 hosted by Support Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF).
Present as the guest of honour for the ceremony was Colonel Haji Damit bin Haji Bakar, Deputy Commander of RBLF. Also present at the ceremony was the Chief of Staff, RBLF, senior officers and other invited guests.
In his speech, the guest of honour advised the participating teams to view their participation in the shooting competition as broadening their experience and knowledge as well as preparations for the upcoming ASEAN Armies Rifles Meet (AARM) which will be hosted by Negara Brunei Darussalam in 2020.
The ceremony commenced with a honourary salute led by Major Haji Nafisal @ Dedy bin Haji Salim. The ceremony was followed by an introduction to the Contingent Commanders of the participating teams, a site visit to the Secretariat and STATS followed by a Novelty Shoot. The ceremony concluded with a prize presentation for the winners of the Novelty Shoot.
A total of 159 shooters representing the Royal Brunei Land Force Headquarters, First, Second and Third Battalions, Support Battalion and Combat Service Support will participate in various matches which will test the shooters’ skills for Pistol, Carbine, Rifle and GPMG.
The aims and objectives of the competition are to improve individual weapon handling and shooting skills. It also serves to enhance the level of teamwork and cooperation amongst each other, increasing the sense of belonging by encouraging a healthy competitive spirit amongst the units within Royal Brunei Land Force. The previous LFSAAM took place in 2010.

Land Force Skill At Arms Meet (LFSAAM) telah dikendalikan bertempat di Padang Tembak Binturan, Penanjong Garison. Perlawanan LFSAAM akan bermula pada 08 April sehingga 16 April 2019 dan dikendalikan oleh Batalion Bantu, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (Bn Bantu TDDB).
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat Majlis adalah Yang Mulia Kolonel Haji Damit bin Haji Bakar, Timbalan Pemerintah TDDB. Juga turut hadir adalah Yang Mulia Ketua Staf, TDDB, pegawai-pegawai kanan dan jemputan khas.
Dalam ucapan beliau, Tetamu Kehormat Majlis menasihatkan semua peserta untuk memanfaatkan peluang dikesempatan penglibatan dalam LFSAAM ini sebagai landasan dalam menimba pengalaman dan pengetahuan dan juga sebagai persiapan TDDB dalam pengendalian dan perlaksanaan kejohanan
ASEAN Armies Rifles Meet (AARM) yang akan diungkayahkan di Negara Brunei Darussalam pada 2020.
Upacara bermula dengan tabik hormat yang diketuai oleh Yang Mulia Mejar Haji Nafisal @ Dedy bin Haji Salim selaku Ketua Kontinjen. Upacara diteruskan dengan suai kenal dengan Ketua Kontinjen, diikuti dengan taklimat dan lawatan tapak Urusetia dan STATS, lawatan ke tapak tembak dan acara menembak
Novelty. Majlis diakhiri dengan penyampaian hadiah kepada pemenang penembak
Novelty.
Seramai 159 penembak daripada Markas TDDB, Batalion Pertama, Kedua dan Ketiga, Batalion Bantu dan Khidmat Bantuan Kombat akan ikut bertanding dalam pelbagai kategori perlawanan yang akan menguji kemahiran penembak bagi
pistol,
carbine, rifle dan
GPMG.
Diantara matlamat dan objektik perlawanan LFSAAM adalah meningkatkan lagi kerjasama sepasukan, mengenal dan memahirkan pengendalian senjata-senjata, mempertingkatkan
sense of belonging dan memumuk daya saing diantara unit-unit TDDB. Kali terakhir LFSAAM telah dikendalikan adalah pada tahun 2010.
