BERAKAS GARRISON, Tuesday, 25th June 2024 – Brigadier General Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), received a courtesy call from Air Vice Marshal Smeath, Director of the Global Defence Network, United Kingdom, held at the RBLF Headquarters, Berakas Garrison.
During the call, the Commander of the RBLF welcomed Air Vice Marshal Smeath to Brunei Darussalam and the RBLF Headquarters. He also expressed his appreciation for the active and longstanding bilateral relations between both countries which includes military courses, training and exercises. Both sides also had the opportunity to discuss on various avenues for future cooperation.
Negara Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom have maintained diplomatic relations since January 1984, and the RBLF will continue to play its role in supporting the Ministry of Defence’s defence diplomacy effort as one of the three key defence pillars. Air Vice Marshal Smeath is on a working visit to Brunei Darussalam from 25th to 27th June 2024.
KUNJUNGAN HORMAT DARIPADA AIR VICE MARSHAL MICK SMEATH, DIRECTOR OF THE GLOBAL DEFENCE NETWORK, UNITED KINGDOM
Berakas Garison, Selasa, 25 Jun 2024 – Brigedier Jeneral Haji Mohammad Shanonnizam bin Sulaiman, Pemerintah Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), telah menerima kunjungan hormat daripada Air Vice Marshal Smeath, Director Global Defence Network, United Kingdom bertempat di Markas TDDB, Berakas Garison.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, Pemerintah TDDB mengalu-alukan kedatangan Air Vice Marshal Smeath ke Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Markas TDDB. Beliau turut menzahirkan ucapan penghargaan atas hubungan dua hala yang aktif dan telah lama terjalin di antara kedua-dua buah negara melalui kursus, latihan dan eksesais ketenteraan. Kedua-dua pihak juga berpeluang membincangkan mengenai pelbagai cara untuk berkerjasama di masa hadapan.
Negara Brunei Darussalam dan United Kingdom telah menjalinkan hubungan diplomatik sejak Januari 1984, dan TDDB akan terus memainkan peranannya dalam mendokong usaha diplomasi pertahanan Kementerian Pertahanan iaitu salah satu daripada tiga tonggak utama pertahanan. Air Vice Marshal Smeath berada di Negara Brunei Darussalam bagi lawatan kerja bermula 25 hingga 27 Jun 2024.
