PENANJONG GARRISON, Friday, 08th March 2024 – The Closing Ceremony of the Junior Officer Tactics Course (JOTC) 2023 was held at the Officers’ Mess, Penanjong Garrison. A total of 44 course participants from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces officers attended the course which was conducted for nine weeks, starting from 17th January to 01st March 2024.
Present as the Guest of Honor was Lieutenant Colonel Erwan bin Hj Ibrahim, Acting Field Commander Royal Brunei Land Force. Also present were Major Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli, Commanding Officer School of Infantry Royal Brunei Land Force, Senior Officers, Invited Guest Officers and JOTC Directing Staffs.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Lieutenant Pg Muhammad Nur Hafizan bin Pg Hj Hasan and Surah Al Anfaal from verse 57 to verse 60 by Lieutenant Abdul Qawi Ariq bin Haji Mohamed Hussain. The ceremony continued with a course review by Major Mohammad Sufrien bin Johan, Directing Staff of Officer Development Wing, followed by cohort video presentation. The ceremony proceeded with the presentation of certificates by the Guest of Honour before concluding with a congratulatory address, officially marking the closing of the Junior Officer Tactics Course 2023.
In his closing speech, the Guest of Honor touched on the importance of the military planning process, the awareness and knowledge of the contemporary operating environment. He urged course participants to be critical and emphasised that the most effective plan is one adaptable to evolving situation. In addition, the Guest of Honor highlighted the importance for course participants to enhance their efficiency, responsiveness and overall effectiveness. The ceremony ended with a congratulatory word from the Guest of Honor and the official closing of the Junior Officer Tactics Course 2023.
MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS JUNIOR OFFICER TACTICS COURSE 2023
PENANJONG GARISON, Jumaat, 08 Mac 2023 – Majlis Penutup Kursus Junior Officer Tactics Course (JOTC) 2023 telah diadakan di Mes Pegawai, Penanjong Garison. Seramai 44 pegawai telah menghadiri kursus ini yang terdiri daripada Pegawai-Pegawai Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei dan telah dijalankan selama tujuh minggu, bermula dari 17 Januari hingga 01 Mac 2024.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Leftenan Kolonel Erwan bin Haji Ibrahim, Pemangku Pemerintah Medan, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei. Turut hadir bagi acara tersebut ialah Mejar Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli, Pegawai Pemerintah Sekolah Infantri TDDB, Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan, Pegawai-Pegawai jemputan serta Pegawai-Pegawai Juruarah.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan surah Al-Fatihah yang dibacakan oleh Leftenan Pg Muhammad Nur Hafizan bin Pg Hj Hasan dan bacaan Surah Al- Anfaal dari Ayat 57 to 60 oleh Leftenan Abdul Qawi Ariq bin Haji Mohamed Hussain. Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian ulasan kursus oleh Juruarah Cawangan Perkembangan Pegawai, Mejar Mohammad Sufrien bin Johan dan diteruskan dengan tayangan video. Ini diikuti dengan penyampaian sijil kepada peserta-peserta kursus oleh Tetamu Kehormat serta ucapan penutup kursus.
Dalam ucapan penutup beliau, Tetamu Kehormat mengingatkan akan kepentingan proses perancangan ketenteraan dan kepekaan serta pengetahuan dalam contemporary operating environment. Beliau menasihatkan agar semua peserta kursus supaya lebih kritikal dan kreatif memandangkan perancangan yang effektif adalah yang dapat disesuaikan dengan situasi terkini. Beliau juga berharap supaya peserta-peserta kursus akan dapat melatih diri untuk lebih cekap, responsif dan efisyen. Ini bermakna, melaksanakan tugas dalam tekanan dan dalam masa yang terhad ini akan menguji inisiatif individu dan juga salah satu kunci bagi kejayaan. Majlis diakhiri dengan ucapan tahniah daripada Tetamu Kehormat dan dengan secara rasminya menutup Junior Officer Tactics Course 2023.
