PENANJONG GARRISON, Friday, 6 October 2023 – The Closing Ceremony for the Company/Squadron Sergeant Major (CSM/SSM) Course Session 2023 was held today at the Cookhouse Support Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force (Sp Bn RBLF). A total of 42 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) from various units from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Brunei Prison Department attended the course, which took place from 10 August 2023 until 6 October 2023.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Major Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli, Commanding Officer School of Infantry (SOI) RBLF. Also in attendance were officers, NCOs as well as representatives from the Brunei Prison Department.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah An-Nisa from verses 58 to 59 by Staff Sergeant Asrol bin Adenin from Third Battalion RBLF. It continued with the welcoming remarks and a course review by Staff Sergeant Khairun Nizam bin Nawi, Course Instructor, followed by certificate presentation by the Guest of Honour to the course participants, consisting of 28 personnel from RBLF, one personnel from Royal Brunei Navy, four personnel from Royal Brunei Air Force, three personnel from Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF), three personnel from Ministry of Defence, one personnel from Special Force Regiment and two personnel from the Brunei Prison Department.
The Guest of Honour also presented awards to the overall Best Student which was awarded to Sergeant Muhamad Shahrul Hamdi bin Haji Awang Tengah from SOI RBLF, while the Best Practical Student was awarded to Sergeant Mohammad Zailani bin Mohd Shahlan from TI RBAF and the Best Theoretical Student was awarded to Staff Sergeant Mohammad Khairum Izwandy bin Abdullah Tangkai from Second Battalion RBLF. The ceremony concluded with a congratulatory speech from the Guest of Honour, followed by the official closing of the 2023 Session.
The CSM/SSM course aims to provide exposure in leadership expertise to be an authoritative NCO and well-managed in personnel management and administrative of a company or unit. In addition, course participants are also given the opportunity to conduct and perform exercises in various types of drills that are normally conducted during significant national events.
MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS KOMPENI/SKUADRON SARJAN MEJAR SESI 2023
PENANJONG GARISON, Jumaat, 6 Oktober 2023 – Majlis Penutup bagi Kursus Kompeni/Skuadron (KSM/SSM) Sarjan Mejar Sesi 2023 telah diadakan pada hari ini bertempat di Rumah Masak Batalion Bantu Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (Bn Bantu TDDB). Seramai 42 PTB Kanan yang terdiri dari pelbagai unit di Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dan Jabatan Penjara Brunei telah menghadiri kursus tersebut bermula 10 Ogos 2023 hingga 6 Oktober 2023.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Mejar Faizal Azly bin Haji Rosli, Pegawai Pemerintah Sekolah Infantri (SI TDDB). Turut hadir ialah pegawai-pegawai, Pegawai Tidak Bertauliah (PTB) Kanan dan wakil dari Jabatan Penjara Brunei.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Surah An-Nisa dari ayat 58 hingga 59 oleh Staf Sarjan Asrol bin Adenin dari Batalion Ketiga TDDB. Majlis diteruskan dengan ucapan alu-aluan dan ulasan perjalanan kursus oleh Staf Sarjan Khairun Nizam bin Nawi, Jurulatih Kursus dan diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil oleh Tetamu Kehormat kepada peserta kursus yang terdiri daripada 28 anggota dari TDDB, seorang anggota dari Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei, empat anggota dari Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei, tiga anggota dari Institut Latihan (IL) ABDB, tiga anggota dari Kementerian Pertahanan, seorang anggota dari Rejimen Pasukan Khas dan dua anggota dari Jabatan Penjara.
Tetamu kehormat juga menyampaikan anugerah-anugerah kepada peserta kursus iaitu Anugerah Penuntut Terbaik keseluruhan disandang oleh Sarjan Muhamad Shahrul Hamdi bin Haji Awang Tengah dari SI TDDB, Anugerah Penuntut Terbaik Amali disandang oleh Sarjan Mohammad Zailani bin Mohd Shahlan dari IL ABDB dan Anugerah Penuntut Terbaik Teori disandang oleh Staf Sarjan Mohammad Khairum Izwandy bin Abdullah Tangkai dari Batalion Kedua TDDB. Majlis diakhiri dengan ucapan tahniah daripada Tetamu Kehormat dan penutupan rasmi Kursus Kompeni/Skuadron Sarjan Mejar Sesi 2023.
Kursus ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendedahan dalam ilmu kepimpinan sebagai seorang PTB Kanan yang berwibawa dan arif dalam pengurusan keanggotaan dan pentadbiran kompeni atau unit. Selain itu, peserta kursus juga diberikan peluang membuat pengendalian dan latihan dalam beberapa jenis kawad yang dikendalikan semasa acara – acara kebesaran negara.
