KOTA BELUD, Saturday, 17 September 2023 – The closing ceremony for Exercise MALBRU SETIA 15/2023 and MERTAK BERSATU 13/2023, involved officers and personnel from B Company, Second Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (2Bn RBLF), a combined Mortar Platoon from Infantry Battalions of RBLF and units from 5 Brigade (5 Bgd) Malaysian Army was held at Lapang Sasar Udara Kota Belud (LASARUD 2), Sabah, Malaysia.
Present to conclude the exercises was Brigadier General Mohd Sobirin bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Commander of 5 Bgd, Malaysian Army and accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Fakaruddin Zuraidie bin Haji Ramli, Field Commander RBLF. Prior to the closing ceremony, a firepower demonstration was conducted by the Mortar Platoon from RBLF and the Malaysian Army. Present during the demonstration was Major General Malek Razak bin Sulaiman, General Officer Commanding 5th Infantry Division (GOC 5 Div) of the Malaysian Army.
The ceremony then continued with the decommissioning of appointment insignia by Commander 5 Bgd and Field Commander RBLF. The event followed by speeches from both guests and the exchange of memento before it concluded with a closing doa and a group photo. Both exercises were conducted with the collective objective of upgrading the skills, knowledge, professionalism and interoperability of both army and much importantly strengthening the long standing friendship.
In appreciation of the officers and personnel who made the exercise a success a dinner called Malam Akrab was hosted by the Malaysian Army. The dinner were indulged with local delicacies and with various cultural performances.
MAJLIS PENUTUP DAN MALAM AKRAB EKSESAIS MALBRU SETIA 15/2023 DAN MERTAK BERSATU 13/2023
KOTA BELUD, Sabtu, 17 September 2023 – Majlis penutup Eksesais MALBRU SETIA Siri 15/2023 dan MERTAK BERSATU Siri 13/2023 yang melibatkan pegawai dan anggota dari Kompeni B Batalion Kedua Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (2Bn TDDB), gabungan Platun Mertak daripada unit-unit Infantri TDDB dan unit-unit di bawah Briged Kelima (5 Bgd) Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) telah berlangsung di Lapang Sasar Udara 2 (LASARUD 2), Kota Belud, Sabah, Malaysia.
Hadir bagi menutup rasmi eksesais ialah Brigedier Jeneral Mohd Sobirin bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Panglima 5 Bgd diiringi oleh Leftenan Kolonel Mohammad Fakaruddin Zuraidie bin Haji Ramli, Pemerintah Medan TDDB. Sebelum majlis penutup dimulakan, Mejar Jeneral Malek Razak bin Sulaiman, Panglima 5 Div telah berkesudian menyaksikan demonstrasi tembakan oleh Platun Mertak dari TDDB dan TDM.
Majlis kemudiannya diteruskan dengan acara membuka toha yang disempurnakan oleh Panglima 5 Bgd dan Pemerintah Medan TDDB. Acara diikuti dengan ucapan daripada kedua-dua tetamu serta pertukaran cenderahati, sebelum diakhiri dengan bacaan doa penutup serta bergambar ramai. Eksesais ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemahiran, pengetahuan, profesionalisme dan keboleh-operasi antara kedua-dua tentera darat dan lebih penting lagi mengeratkan hubungan persahabatan yang sudah lama terjalin.
Sebagai penghargaan kepada pegawai-pegawai dan anggota yang menjayakan latihan tersebut, Majlis Makan Malam Akrab telah dianjurkan oleh TDM. Makan malam tersebut dihidangkan dengan juadah tempatan dan pelbagai persembahan kebudayaan.
