PENANJONG GARRISON, Friday, 23 June 2023 – The Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive Defence Unit, Support Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (CBRE Sp Bn RBLF) conducted the Closing Ceremony for the Booby Trap Course 2023 Session which was held from 5 June 2023 until 23 June 2023 at the CBRE Defence Unit Sp Bn RBLF, Penanjong Garrison.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Lieutenant Colonel Rudie Asmawi bin Haji Abidin, Commanding Officer Sp Bn RBLF.
A total of 21 personnel attended the course which consisted of Assault Pioneers of First Battalion RBLF, Assault Pioneers of Second Battalion RBLF, Assault Pioneers of Third Battalion RBLF, Combat Engineer Squadron (CES) Sp Bn RBLF, CBRE Defence Unit Sp Bn RBLF, Special Forces Regiment Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Special Operation Section Royal Brunei Police Force.
This course serves to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the Booby Trap components which include methods of crafting, implanting, cleaning, and securing the Booby Trap. Aside from practicing safe procedures in accordance with the sequence of a Booby Trap component.
It is important for frontliners to have a basic understanding of the course due to the evolving threats such as the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that is used in the battlefield and in unconventional warfare.
MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS JERANGKAP SAMAR SESI 2023
PENANJONG GARISON, Jumaat, 23 Jun 2023 – Unit Pertahanan Kimia, Biologi, Radiologi dan Letupan Batalion Bantu Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (Pthn KBRL Bn Bantu TDDB) telah mengendalikan Majlis Penutup Kursus Jerangkap Samar Sesi 2023 yang telah dilaksanakan bermula 5 Jun 2023 hingga 23 Jun 2023 di Unit Pthn KBRL Bn Bantu TDDB, Penanjong Garison.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Leftenan Kolonel Rudie Asmawi bin Haji Abidin, Pegawai Pemerintah Bn Bantu TDDB.
Seramai 21 anggota telah menghadiri kursus berkenaan yang terdiri daripada anggota Platun Rintis Serang (PRS) Batalion Pertama TDDB, PRS Batalion Kedua TDDB, PRS Batalion Ketiga TDDB, Unit Pthn KBRL Bn Bantu TDDB, Skuadron Jurutera Tempur (SJT) Bn Bantu TDDB, Rejimen Pasukan Khas Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei dan Pasukan Gerak Khas Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei.
Kursus ini bertujuan bagi meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan dan memahami dengan lebih mendalam mengenai komponen jerangkap samar termasuk tatacara membuat, memasang, membersihkan dan menyelamat daripada jerangkap samar. Di samping itu, ia juga melatih para peserta kursus agar dapat mengendalikan jerangkap samar dengan cara yang selamat, betul dan teratur.
Kursus Jerangkap Samar amat penting bagi anggota barisan hadapan dalam bersedia untuk menangani sebarang ancaman seperti rekaan jerangkap samar dalam bentuk bahan letupan yang diubahsuai iaitu Improvised Explosive Device (IED) sama ada di medan peperangan mahu pun peperangan yang tidak konvensional.
