PENANJONG GARRISON, Thursday, 4 May 2023 – The Opening Ceremony for the All Arm Staff and Tactics Course (AASTC) 2023 was held today at the Lecture Room School of Infantry, Royal Brunei Land Force (SOI RBLF), Penanjong Garrison.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Colonel Muhammad Wata bin Abdullah Awat, Deputy Commander of RBLF. Also present was Colonel Haji Nor Azizi bin Abdullah, Malaysian Defense Advisor to Brunei Darussalam, Directing Staffs, and Officers.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah At-Tawbah from verses 122 to 124 led by Major Haji Awang Mohammad Adi Asmawi bin Haji Awang Adanan, a course participant, followed by the Guest of Honour’s opening remarks and officiating of the course.
In his remarks, he advised the course participants to take this opportunity to share their experience and enhance their knowledge which is useful for the implementation of operations and as preparation before attending higher career courses. The Guest of Honour also emphasised to prioritise religious approaches such as reciting Surah Yassin and holy verses of Quran before starting lessons or training programs.
AASTC 2023 is an eight-week course aimed to train Officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in planning and executing roles of Battalion commanders and Staff Officer Grade 2 at Brigade and Joint level. A total of 11 military officers are attending the course this year including four Officers from RBLF, three Officers from Ministry of Defence, two Officers from Defence Academy RBAF, one Officer from Training Institute RBAF and one military Officer from Malaysia. Significantly, the AASTC conducted at SOI RBLF has for the first time accepted the participation of a foreign military officer and will continue into the next series.
MAJLIS PEMBUKAAN KURSUS ALL ARM STAFF AND TACTIC COURSE (AASTC) 2023
PENANJONG GARISON, Khamis, 4 Mei 2023 – Majlis Pembukaan Kursus All Arm Staff and Tactics Course (AASTC) 2023 telah berlangsung pada hari ini bertempat di Bilik Kuliah, Sekolah Infantri, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (SI TDDB), Penanjong Garison.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Kolonel Muhammad Wata bin Abdullah Awat, Timbalan Pemerintah TDDB. Turut hadir ialah Kolonel Haji Nor Azizi bin Abdullah, Penasihat Pertahanan Malaysia ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, Juruarah-Juruarah, dan Pegawai-pegawai.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan bacaan Surah At-Tawbah bermula ayat 122 hingga 124 oleh peserta kursus, Mejar Haji Awang Mohammad Adi Asmawi bin Haji Awang Adanan, diikuti dengan ucapan perasmian Tetamu Kehormat dan perasmian kursus tersebut.
Dalam ucapannya, beliau menasihatkan peserta kursus supaya mengambil peluang ini untuk berkongsi pengalaman dan menambah ilmu pengetahuan yang berguna untuk pelaksanaan operasi dan juga sebagai persediaan sebelum mengikuti kursus kerjaya yang lebih tinggi. Tetamu kehormat juga menekankan untuk mengutamakan pendekatan keagamaan seperti membaca Surah Yassin dan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran sebelum memulakan pelajaran atau program latihan.
Matlamat Kursus AASTC sesi 2023 yang dilaksanakan selama lapan minggu adalah untuk melatih Pegawai-pegawai Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dalam perancangan operasi di peringkat Markas Briged selaku Pegawai Pemerintah dan Pegawai Staf. Seramai 11 Pegawai-pegawai Tentera menyertai kursus pada tahun ini yang terdiri daripada empat orang Pegawai dari Tentara Darat Diraja Brunei, tiga orang Pegawai dari Kementerian Pertahanan, dua orang Pegawai dari Akademi Pertahanan ABDB, seorang Pegawai dari Institut Latihan ABDB dan seorang Pegawai tentera dari Malaysia. AASTC yang dijalankan di SI TDDB buat pertama kalinya menerima penyertaan pegawai tentera asing dan akan diteruskan ke siri seterusnya.
