SUNGAI AKAR CAMP, Wednesday, 24 December 2025 – A total of 88 personnel from the Royal Guards Regiment, Royal Brunei Land Forces (RGdR RBLF) successfully completed the Basic Combat Self-Defence (BDT) Course, which was conducted from 10th December to 24th December 2025. The closing ceremony of the course was held at the Parade Square of the RGdR RBLF, Sungai Akar Camp.
Officiating the closing ceremony was Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammad Airul Wizam bin Haji Ahmad, Acting Chief of Staff of the RBLF. Also present were Major Haji Hazimin bin Haji Abdullah, Commanding Officer of the RGdR RBLF, as well as officers and personnel of the RGdR RBLF.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Lance Corporal Ak Md Zahwan bin Pg Mohammad from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), followed by a combat self-defence demonstration by the course participants. The event continued with the presentation of course badges to all participants before proceeding with the official closing remarks by the Acting Chief of Staff of the RBLF.
The course aims to strengthen personnel capabilities with essential self-defence skills and the ability to respond effectively in close combat situations, both with and without weapons. Combat self-defence proficiency is a fundamental requirement for every Royal Guard who bears the responsibility of safeguarding sovereignty, security, and the order of the Palace.
MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS ASAS BELA DIRI TEMPUR SIRI 03/2025
PERKHEMAHAN SUNGAI AKAR, Rabu, 24 Disember 2025 – Seramai 88 orang anggota daripada Rejimen Pengawal Diraja Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (RPD TDDB) telah berjaya menamatkan Kursus Bela Diri Tempur (BDT) yang telah dilaksanakan bermula 10 Disember hingga 24 Disember 2025. Majlis Penutup Kursus BDT berlangsung di Padang Kawad, Rejimen Pengawal Diraja Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (RPD TDDB), Perkhemahan Sungai Akar.
Acara penutup telah disempurnakan oleh Leftenan Kolonel Haji Mohammad Airul Wizam bin Haji Ahmad, Pemangku Ketua Staf TDDB. Turut hadir ialah Mejar Haji Hazimin bin Haji Abdullah, Pegawai Pemerintah RPD TDDB, pegawai-pegawai serta anggota RPD TDDB.
Acara dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah yang diketuai oleh Lans Koperal Ak Md Zahwan bin Pg Mohammad dari Jabatanarah Agama (JAMA’AT) ABDB dan diteruskan dengan demonstrasi seni bela diri oleh peserta-peserta kursus. Penyampaian lencana seterusnya disampaikan kepada semua peserta kursus sebelum diakhiri dengan ucapan penutupan rasmi kursus oleh Pemangku Ketua Staf TDDB.
Kursus ini bertujuan bagi memperkukuhkan keupayaan anggota dengan kemahiran mempertahankan diri serta kebolehan untuk bertindak bela diri secara berkesan dalam pertempuran jarak dekat dengan senjata atau tanpa senjata. Kemahiran bela diri adalah salah satu keperluan yang perlu dimiliki bagi setiap seorang Pengawal Diraja yang bertanggungjawab dalam menjaga kedaulatan, keselamatan dan ketenteraman Istana.
