PENANJONG GARRISON, Wednesday, 03 September 2025 The School of Infantry, Royal Brunei Land Forces (SOI RBLF) held the closing ceremony for the Company Commander, Section Commander, and the Heavy Support Weapon Course at the Field Firing Area (FFA), Binturan Range, Penanjong Garrison. A total of 13 officers and 67 personnel from various units of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) had completed the courses. Present to officiate the closing was Brigadier General Aldi bin Haji Hassan, Commander of the RBLF, and he was joined by Lieutenant Colonel Md Fakaruddin Zuraidi bin Haji Ramli, RBLF Field Commander.

As the capstone of training, a Company Live Firing Exercise entitled ‘Exercise GEMPUR WIRA‘ was conducted to demonstrate the successful culmination of the courses. The exercise provided realistic and demanding company-level live fire operations, integrating fire support from 81mm mortars, RGW 90HH, Heavy Machine Guns (HMG), General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), CVR(T) Scorpion armoured vehicles, and the S70i Black Hawk helicopter.

Following the conduct of the exercise, the Commander of RBLF then presented certificates and awards to the course participants with Captain Muhammad Ali Nuurul Saffuan bin Muhamad Ali, from the Combat Service Support RBLF received the Best Overall Award for the Company Commander Course. Meanwhile, Captain Mohd Afiq bin Haji Janaidi from the Directorate of Logistic Ministry of Defence has been awarded the Best Theory Award, and Captain Umar Abdul Aziz bin Yahya from the Training Institute RBAF for Best Practical Award.

For the Section Commander Course, Lance Corporal Md Isamuddin bin Mohd Salleh from the Training Institute RBAF received the Best Overall Award, Lance Corporal Md Azizan bin Md Jefry from the Third Battalion (3Bn) RBLF has been given the Best Theory Award, Lance Corporal Md Wafiq Iqillah bin Khairul Anwar from 3Bn RBLF received the Best in Practical, and Able Rate Akmal Irfan bin Haji Yusuf from the Royal Brunei Navy for the Best in Physical.

These courses play an important role in developing the leadership capabilities and technical competencies of RBAF personnel. Participants were equipped with the knowledge and skills required to command effectively at both company and section levels, while also enhancing their expertise in the employment of heavy support weapons. This will ensure that all participants are fully prepared to demonstrate effective leadership and maintain mission readiness towards achieving operational excellence.

EKSESAIS ‘GEMPUR WIRA’ 2025

PENANJONG GARISON, Rabu, 03 September 2025 – Sekolah Infantri, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (SI TDDB) telah mengadakan Majlis Penutup bagi Kursus Ketua Kompeni, Kursus Tempur Ketua Seksyen dan Kursus Senjata Bantuan bertempat di kawasan Lapang Sasar, Padang Tembak Binturan, Penanjong Garison. Seramai 13 pegawai dan 67 anggota daripada pelbagai unit Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) telah berjaya menamatkan kursus-kursus berkenaan. Hadir bagi menyempurnakan Majlis Penutup ialah Brigedier Jeneral Aldi bin Haji Hassan, Pemerintah TDDB dan turut disertai oleh Leftenan Kolonel Md Fakaruddin Zuraidi bin Haji Ramli, Pemerintah Medan TDDB.

Sebagai kemuncak latihan, peserta kursus telah melaksanakan Latihan Menembak Peluru Hidup Peringkat Kompeni iaitu Eksesais GEMPUR WIRA dalam mempraktikkan kejayaan pelaksanaan kursus-kursus berkenaan. Latihan ini memberikan pengalaman tempur yang realistik serta mencabar dalam melaksanakan operasi menembak peluru hidup di peringkat kompeni dengan sokongan tembakan daripada 81mm meriam katak (mortar), RGW 90HH, Heavy Machine Gun (HMG), General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), Kenderaan Angkut Perisai CVR(T) Scorpion dan helikopter S70i Black Hawk.

Selesai eksesais tersebut, Pemerintah TDDB seterusnya menyampaikan sijil dan anugerah kepada para peserta yang mana Kapten Muhammad Ali Nuurul Saffuan bin Muhamad Ali dari Khidmat Bantuan Kombat TDDB menerima anugerah Penuntut Terbaik Keseluruhan bagi Kursus Ketua Kompeni. Sementara itu, Kapten Mohd Afiq bin Haji Janaidi dari Jabatanarah Logistik Kementerian Pertahanan menerima Penuntut Teori Terbaik, dan Kapten Umar Abdul Aziz bin Yahya dari Institut Latihan ABDB menerima Penuntut Terbaik Amali.

Bagi Kursus Tempur Ketua Seksyen pula, Lans Koperal Md Isamuddin bin Mohd Salleh dari Institut Latihan ABDB menerima anugerah Penuntut Terbaik Keseluruhan, Lans Koperal Md Azizan bin Md Jefry dari Batalion Ketiga (3Bn) TDDB menerima Penuntut Terbaik Teori, Lans Koperal Md Wafiq Iqillah bin Khairul Anwar dari 3Bn TDDB menerima anugerah Penuntut Terbaik Amali dan Laskar Muda Akmal Irfan bin Haji Yusuf dari Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei menerima anugerah Penuntut Terbaik Jasmani.

Kursus-kursus berkenaan memainkan peranan yang penting dalam meningkatkan keupayaan kepimpinan dan kemahiran teknikal bagi anggota ABDB. Latihan ini membekalkan para peserta dengan pengetahuan serta kemahiran yang diperlukan untuk memerintah dengan berkesan di peringkat kompeni dan juga seksyen, di samping meningkatkan kepakaran mereka dalam penggunaan senjata bantuan. Ini setentunya memastikan semua peserta bersedia sepenuhnya dalam menunjukkan kepimpinan yang efektif, dan mengekalkan kesediaan misi ke arah mencapai kecemerlangan operasi.
