BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday, 10th July 2026 – The closing ceremony for the Paracounsellor Preparatory Course was held at the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) PRIHATIN Centre, Bolkiah Garrison, following the completion of the six-week course, which was conducted from 3rd June to 10th July 2026. A total of 19 participants completed the course, comprising 10 personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF), two from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), two from the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), three personnel from the Training Institute RBAF (TI RBAF) and two civilian staff, respectively from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The closing was officiated by Captain Haji Norbahrin bin Haji Muamad, RBN, Head of Inspectorate Unit, RBAF.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a closing address delivered by the Head of Inspectorate Unit, RBAF. In his address, he underscored the importance of integrity, ethics and professionalism as the core principles in delivering effective guidance and counselling services. He highlighted that the effectiveness of the counselling process depends not only on the competencies of Paracounsellors, but also on their ability to foster trust by maintaining confidentiality, upholding accountability and respecting the rights and dignity of those under their care. He further reminded all participants to consistently uphold these principles in every action, communication and decision to preserve the credibility and effectiveness of counselling services within the organisation.
The presentation of certificates and excellence awards was then held, with the Overall Best Student Award being presented to Muhammad Fahmi Haji Abas from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The Best Theory Award was given to Mohammad Hazim bin Alimanar from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, while the Best Practical Award was presented to Sergeant Syarif Hanif bin Abas from the School of Infantry, Combined Arms Training Centre RBLF.
The course was designed to develop competent, ethical and trustworthy Paracounsellors capable of providing guidance and psychosocial support services to respective personnel and staff. It also reflects the RBAF’s continued commitment to strengthening mental resilience, safeguarding the well-being of its personnel, supporting human capital development, and enhancing operational readiness across the organisation.
MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS PERSEDIAAN PARAKAUNSELOR
BOLKIAH GARISON, Jumaat, 10 Julai 2026 – Majlis Penutup bagi Kursus Persediaan Parakaunselor telah diadakan di Pusat PRIHATIN Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), Bolkiah Garison, susulan tamatnya kursus selama enam minggu yang berlangsung dari 3 Jun hingga 10 Julai 2026. Seramai 19 peserta telah berjaya menamatkan kursus tersebut yang terdiri daripada 10 anggota Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB), dua dari Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB), dua dari Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB), tiga anggota daripada Institut Latihan ABDB (IL ABDB) dan dua kakitangan awam masing-masing dari Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama dan Kementerian Ekonomi, Perdagangan dan Industri. Majlis penutup telah disempurnakan oleh Kepten Haji Norbahrin bin Haji Muamad, TLDB, Ketua Unit Inspektorat ABDB.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah, diikuti dengan ucapan penutup oleh Ketua Unit Inspektorat ABDB. Dalam ucapannya, beliau menegaskan bahawa integriti, etika dan profesionalisme merupakan tonggak utama dalam penyampaian khidmat bimbingan dan kaunseling yang berkesan. Beliau menjelaskan bahawa keberkesanan proses kaunseling bukan sahaja bergantung kepada kompetensi seseorang Parakaunselor, malah turut dipengaruhi oleh keupayaan mereka dalam membina kepercayaan melalui pemeliharaan kerahsiaan, pengamalan akauntabiliti serta penghormatan terhadap hak dan maruah individu yang dibimbing. Beliau turut mengingatkan para peserta agar sentiasa berpegang teguh kepada prinsip-prinsip tersebut dalam setiap tindakan, komunikasi dan keputusan yang diambil bagi memastikan kredibiliti serta keberkesanan perkhidmatan kaunseling terus terpelihara demi manfaat seluruh warga organisasi.
Acara diikuti dengan penyampaian sijil dan penyampaian anugerah cemerlang dengan Pelajar Keseluruhan Terbaik disampaikan kepada Muhammad Fahmi Haji Abas dari Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama. Anugerah Teori Terbaik telah diberikan oleh Mohammad Hazim bin Alimanar dari Kementerian Ekonomi, Perdagangan dan Industri, manakala Anugerah Amali Terbaik telah disandang oleh Sarjan Syarif Hanif bin Abas daripada Sekolah Infantri, Pusat Latihan Gabungan Tempur TDDB.
Kursus ini adalah bertujuan untuk melahirkan Parakaunselor yang kompeten, berintegriti dan beretika dalam menyediakan khidmat bimbingan serta sokongan psikososial kepada anggota dan staf masing-masing. Di samping memperkukuhkan kesejahteraan mental, emosi dan kebajikan anggota, kursus ini turut menyokong pembangunan modal insan serta meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan dan keberkesanan organisasi secara menyeluruh.
