BENUTAN TUTONG, Thursday, 17 October 2019 – The Closing Ceremony for the 25th Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Exercise 2019 (25th Ex CARAT 2019) for the Land Phase took place at Benutan, Ulu Tutong. A total of 189 personnel were involved in the exercise which comprised of 71 personnel from Second Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (2Bn RBLF) and 118 personnel from the 11th Marines Expeditionary Unit of The United States Marines Corps.
Present as the guest of honour was Lieutenant Colonel Amilin bin Haji Mohammad Gani@ Haji Junit, Deputy Commandant of Combat Service Support, RBLF. Also present during the ceremony were Commander Randall D. Jones, Chief of the Office of Defence Cooperation and Commanding Officer of 2Bn RBLF.
The closing ceremony commenced with an exercise final attack brief by Major Azaman bin Haji Hussin, Acting Operations Officer 2Bn RBLF, followed by a company attack on enemy objective. The event was then followed by a speech by the guest of honour and the exchange of mementos. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of doa and a group photo session.
Exercise CARAT 2019 remains a significant platform in strengthening the defence diplomacy between Brunei Darussalam and the US. It also allows for the integrated deployment of ground troops from both armies to enhance interoperability, and provides an opportunity for the training and improvement of the skills of military personnel of both countries in the planning and implementation of infantry operations.
UPACARA PENUTUP BAGI EKSESAIS COOPERATION AFLOAT READINESS AND TRAINING 2019 YANG KE-25
BENUTAN TUTONG, Khamis, 17 Oktober 2019 – Upacara penutup bagi Eksesais Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training yang ke 25 (Ex 25th CARAT 2019) Fasa Darat telah dilaksanakan di Benutan, Ulu Tutong. Seramai 189 anggota terlibat dalam eksesais tersebut yang terdiri daripada 71 anggota daripada Batalion Kedua, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (2Bn TDDB) dan 118 anggota daripada
11th Marines Expeditionary Unit of The United States Marines Corps.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat Majlis adalah Leftenen Kolonel Amilin bin Haji Mohammad Gani @ Haji Junit, Timbalan Komandan Khidmat Bantuan Kombat, TDDB. Turut hadir di upacara tersebut ialah Commander Randall D. Jones, Chief of the Office of Defence Cooperation, Kedutaan Amerika Syarikat dan Pegawai Pemerintah 2BN TDDB.
Upacara dimulakan dengan taklimat eksesais oleh Mejar Azaman bin Haji Hussin, Pemangku Pegawai Gerakan 2BN TDDB dan pertunjukan acara kemuncak serangan akhir ke atas musuh. Acara diteruskan lagi dengan ucapan Tetamu Kehormat dan pertukaran cenderahati. Upacara disudahi dengan bacaan doa dan bergambar ramai.
Eksesais CARAT 2019 terus menjadi landasan penting bagi mengkukuhkan diplomasi pertahanan dan kerjasama ketenteraan diantara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Amerika Syarikat. Ianya juga membolehkan pengintegrasian kedua-duta tentera dalam pergerakan diatas tanah untuk menaik taraf kerjasama diantara kedua belah pihak serta memberi peluang untuk melatih dan meningkatkan kemahiran anggota tentera kedua-dua negara dalam perancangan dan pelaksanaan operasi infantri.
