BANGKOK, THAILAND, Friday 15 March 2019 – Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampoh, Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) made an introductory visit to Thailand from 12 March to 15 March 2019.
The Commander of RBLF began his introductory visit at the Special Warfare Command Headquarters where he was awarded the Honourary Parachutist Badge presented by Lieutenant General Sunai Praphuchanay, Commanding General of the Royal Thai Army Special Warfare Command. During the visit, the Commander of RBLF had the opportunity to have a closer look at the Special Warfare Command assets at their static display.
The programme continued the next day with a visit to the Royal Thai Army Headquarters (RTA HQ). Upon arrival, the Commander of RBLF proceeded to inspect the Guard of Honour mounted by the Royal Thai Army personnel, paid his respects at the King Rama V Memorial followed by a courtesy call to General Apirat Kongsompong, the Commander-in-Chief, Royal Thai Army. The RBLF Commander also called on General Bundit Boonyapan, the Deputy Chief of Defence Force at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters.
During the calls, both sides commended the special relationship between the two countries, acknowledging the long history of friendship built on trust and cooperation. They also reaffirmed the importance of enhancing defence interactions through various bilateral and multilateral platforms as well as through practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Commander of RBLF’s introductory visit signifies the strong camaraderie between the Royal Brunei Land Force and Royal Thai Army, which continues to be strengthened through regular exchange of visits, exercises, professional exchanges, trainings and courses.
LAWATAN PENGENALAN PEMERINTAH TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI KE THAILAND
BANGKOK, THAILAND, JUMAAT 15 Mac 2019 – Yang Mulia Brigedier Jeneral Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampoh, Pemerintah Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah membuat lawatan pengenalan ke Thailand pada 12 Mac hingga 15 Mac 2019.
Lawatan pengenalan dimulakan dengan kunjungan ke Markas Special Warfare Command dimana Pemerintah TDDB telah dianugerahkan the Honourary Parachutist Badge yang disempurnakan oleh Leftenan Jeneral Sunai Praphuchanay, Commanding General, Royal Thai Army Special Warfare Command. Semasa lawatan itu juga, Pemerintah TDDB berpeluang untuk melihat dengan lebih dekat aset tentera Special Warfare Command di pameran statik mereka.
Lawatan diteruskan keesokan harinya dengan kunjungan kepada Markas Tentera Darat Diraja Thailand. Sejurus tiba, Pemerintah TDDB telah menerima tabik hormat dan seterusnya memeriksa Kawalan Kehormatan yang terdiri daripada anggota Tentera Darat Diraja Thailand. Lawatan seterusnya diikuti dengan melawat memorial Raja Rama V dan kunjungan hormat kepada Jeneral Apirat Kongsompong, Panglima Tentera Darat Diraja Thailand. Pemerintah TDDB seterusnya membuat kunjungan hormat kepada Jeneral Bundit Boonyapan, Timbalan Ketua Turus Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Thailand di Markas Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Thailand.
Semasa kunjungan hormat tersebut, kedua belah pihak mengesahkan hubungan pertahanan dua hala di antara kedua buah negara di mana sejarah setiakawan tersebut adalah berdasarkan kepercayaan dan kerjasama. Kedua belah pihak juga menegaskan kepentingan untuk meningkatkan interaksi pertahanan melalui pelbagai platform dua hala dan pelbagai hala serta melalui aktiviti- aktiviti kerjasama praktikal dalam bidang kepentingan bersama.
Lawatan pengenalan Pemerintah TDDB menandakan kerjasama hubungan pertahanan yang erat di antara Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei dan Tentera Darat Diraja Thailand terjalin melalui kunjungan rasmi, interaksi yang kerap, eksesais, latihan dan kursus.
