BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday, 08 April 2021 – The Medical and Health Services Unit, Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) held a closing ceremony for 08 students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Discovery Year Internship Programme that took place at Bolkiah Garrison Medical Complex. Present as the guest of honour was Colonel (Dr) Haji Awg Mohd Hafizul bin Haji Awg Mohd Hassan, Chief Medical Officer.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the speech from the guest of honour. The ceremony continued with the presentation of certificates and concluded with a photo session.
The students involved are currently taking their Bachelor’s Degrees in Health Sciences and Nursing Programme and had completed their 13-weeks internship at the Medical and Health Services Unit, RBLF that started on 11 January 2021 and ended on 9 April 2021. The internship programme took place at various locations across Medical and Health Services sub-units including some introductory visits to relevant units in the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The objectives of the internship programme are to expose the students to the various services in MINDEF and RBAF that are related to health sciences and biology as well as to develop basic research skills and knowledge in the medical and health field.
MAJLIS PENUTUP PROGRAM PENEMPATAN DISCOVERY YEAR UNIVERSITI BRUNEI DARUSSALAM DI UNIT KHIDMAT PERUBATAN DAN KESIHATAN TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI
BOLKIAH GARISON, Khamis, 08 April 2021 – Khidmat Perubatan dan Kesihatan Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah mengadakan Majlis Penutup bagi 08 mahasiswa dan mahasiswi daripada Program Penempatan Discovery Year Universiti Brunei Darussalam bertempat di Kompleks Perubatan Bolkiah Garison. Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat ke Majlis Penutup tersebut ialah Kolonel (Dr) Haji Awg Mohd Hafizul bin Haji Awg Mohd Hassan, Ketua Pegawai Perubatan.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan diikuti dengan ucapan alu-aluan dari tetamu kehormat majlis. Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil dan bergambar ramai.
Mahasiswa dan mahasiswi yang mengikuti Program Sarjana Muda dalam Kesihatan Sains dan Kejururawatan, Universiti Brunei Darussalam itu telah menamatkan Program Penempatan Discovery Year selama 13 minggu bermula dari 11 Januari 2021 hingga 09 April 2021. Program tersebut telah melibatkan penempatan di beberapa sub-unit di bawah Unit Khidmat Perubatan dan Kesihatan, TDDB termasuk lawatan pengenalan ke unit-unit relevan di dalam Kementerian Pertahanan (KEMENTAH) dan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Antara objektif penempatan tersebut adalah untuk memberi pendedahan kepada mahasiswa dan mahasiswi terhadap perkhidmatan-perkhidmatan Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB yang bersangkut-paut dengan bidang kesihatan dan biologi serta untuk meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan dan kemahiran kajiselidik dalam bidang perubatan dan kesihatan.
