HANOI, Thursday, 10 November 2022 – Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) attended the 23rd ASEAN Chief of Army Multilateral Meeting (23rd ACAMM) in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The meeting was officiated by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army (VPA) as the chairman of the 23rd ACAMM. This year’s ACAMM carries the theme ” ASEAN Armies Cohesively Cooperate for Peace “.
During the meeting, the Chiefs of Armies and representatives gave their Exchange of Views on the importance of physically re-engaging after recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting then proceeded with the handover ceremony for the chairmanship of the 24th ACAMM to the Kingdom of Thailand, followed by a closing speech by the Commander-In-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, General Narongpan Jittkaewtae as the Chairman of the 24th ACAMM in 2023.
The Commander of RBLF also had a joint courtesy call to General Phan Văn Giang, Minister of Defence of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the Ministry of National Defence Headquarters. The 23rd ACAMM also gave the opportunity for the Commander of RBLF to conduct bilateral meetings with all respective ASEAN Chiefs of Army and their representatives.
Held concurrently with 23rd ACAMM, the 12th ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting (12th ASMAM) was also successfully conducted and attended by Warrant Officer 1 Kifley bin Haji Johari, Land Force Sergeant Major. The 12th ASMAM was chaired by Senior Colonel Nguyen Le Phuong, Deputy Director of the Institute for Defence International Relations with a theme “Contribution of NCOs to military response to non-traditional security challenges”.
The Kingdom of Thailand will host the 31st ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM), the 24th ACAMM and the 13th ASMAM in 2023.
TDDB HADIRI ASEAN CHIEFS OF ARMY MULTILATERAL MEETING KE 23 DAN ASEAN SERGEANT MAJORS ANNUAL MEETING KE 12
HANOI, Khamis, 10 November 2022 – Brigedier Jeneral Dato Seri Pahlawan Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif, Pemerintah Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) telah menghadiri Mesyuarat ASEAN Chief of Army Multilateral Meeting ke 23 (ACAMM ke 23) bertempat di Republik Sosialis Vietnam.
Mesyuarat tersebut dibuka secara rasmi oleh Leftenan Jeneral Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People’s Army (VPA), Republik Sosialis Vietnam selaku pengerusi ACAMM ke 23. Tema ACAMM pada tahun ini adalah “ASEAN Armies Cohesively Cooperate for Peace”.
Semasa mesyuarat tersebut, Ketua Delegasi Tentera Darat ASEAN masing-masing telah bertukar pandangan tentang kepentingan penglibatan secara fizikal selepas pulih daripada pandemik COVID-19. Mesyuarat diteruskan dengan upacara penyerahan pengerusi mesyuarat ACAMM ke-24 serta ucapan daripada Commander-In-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, General Narongpan Jittkaewtae selaku pengerusi ACAMM ke 24.
Pemerintah TDDB juga berpeluang untuk membuat kunjungan hormat secara berkumpulan kepada Menteri Pertahanan Sosialis Republik Vietnam, Jeneral Phan Văn Giang, di Kementerian Pertahanan. ACAMM ke 23 juga telah memberi kesempatan untuk Pemerintah TDDB membuat perjumpaan dua hala kepada semua Ketua Delegasi Tentera Darat ASEAN.
Diadakan serentak dengan ACAMM ke 23, mesyuarat ASEAN Sergeant Majors Annual Meeting (ASMAM) ke 12 telah berjaya dilaksanakan dan dihadiri oleh Pegawai Waran 1 Kifley bin Haji Johari, Sarjan Mejar Tentera Darat. ASMAM ke 12 telah dipengerusikan oleh Senior Colonel Nguyen Le Phuong, Deputy Director of the Institute for Defence International Relations bertemakan “Contribution of NCOs to military response to non-traditional security challenges”.
Thailand akan menjadi tuan rumah bagi ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) ke 31, ACAMM ke 24 dan ASMAM ke 13 pada November 2023.
