BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wed 5 June 2013 – The Ministry of Defence this morning received a visit from Chief of Staff, Joint Staff, Japan Self Defence Forces, His Excellency General Shigeru Iwasaki at Bolkiah Garrison. Upon arrival at Ministry of Defence, His Excellency was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat.

Present during the courtesy call were the Commander of RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, members of Defence Executive Committee (DEC), directors and senior officers of Ministry of Defence.

Later His Excellency went to visit the RBAF Museum. Upon arrival, His Excellency was welcomed by the Deputy Commander of RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Brigadier General Dato Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah and Head of RBAF Museum, Lt Col Ismaon bin Haji Mohd Zainie. The RBAF Museum was officially opened on 1st June by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam inconjunction with RBAF 52nd Anniversary.

The visit significantly aims in continuing the long established bilateral relations and explore areas of military cooperation between both countries.
