Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammed Airul Wizam bin Haji Ahmad began his military career when he enlisted into the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) on 09 April 2001. After undergoing his Basic Military Training at the Training Institute RBAF, he continued his Officer Cadet training at Officer Cadet School, Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute in Singapore and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in 2003.

Throughout his military career, Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammed Airul Wizam has held various command appointments in RBAF. His command appointments include Platoon Commander 2nd Platoon of Alpha Company, Second Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Troop Leader of Armoured Reconnaissance Squadron Support Battalion RBLF, Adjutant of First Battalion RBLF, Officer Commanding of Bravo Company, Second Battalion RBLF, Officer Commanding of Armoured Reconnaissance Squadron Support Battalion RBLF, Officer Commanding of Officers Development Wing Training Institute RBAF, Officer Commanding of School of Infantry Training Institute RBAF, Second-in-Command of Third Battalion RBLF and Second-in-Command of School of Infantry, Training Institute RBAF before he assumed the appointment of Commanding Officer, School of Infantry RBLF on 01 July 2020.

Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammed Airul Wizam has attended various military courses throughout his service. Among the courses he attended were Platoon Commander Course, Troop Leader Course for Armoured Reconnaissance, Company Commander Course, Battalion Tactics Course in Singapore and the Command and Staff Course in 2017. 

Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammed Airul Wizam has a Postgraduate Diploma in International Security from Massey University, New Zealand. He is married to Robaizah binti Haji Awang Asli and they are blessed with four sons and one daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys running and going to the gym.
