PENANJONG GARRISON, Thursday, 23 June 2022 – Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) and the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) concluded Exercise PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022 today at Binturan FFA Shooting Range, Penanjong Garrison.
Present as the guest of honour was Colonel Azman bin Haji Bangkol, Deputy Commander of the RBLF. Also present to witness the ceremony were Mister Jeffrey S. Barrus, Charge D Affaires United States Embassy, Chief of Staff RBLF, Deputy Commanding General of Operations of USARPAC, Senior Officers, officers and personnel from RBLF and the USARPAC.
The delegation started with a briefing on the planning and the execution of the exercise at the IBSR Shooting Range delivered by Major Daud bin Etim, Deputy Commanding Officer of the 3Bn RBLF before moving to the FFA shooting range for an operational briefing and to witness a Live Firing Exercise demonstration.
Upon arrival at the FFA shooting range, an operational brief for Live Firing Exercise demonstration was delivered by Major Nor Mohammad Saufi @ Nikmat bin Ahmad, Acting Operations Officer of 3Bn TDDB. The combined assault by 3Bn RBLF and the USARPAC began with the insertion of troops from air, sea and land by Blackhawk helicopter for Heliborne Troops, Armored Personnel Carrier for Motorised Troops and Fast Attack Boat for Riverine Troops. The attack on the enemy objectives was successfully executed with fire support from snipers, heavy machine-gun, helicopter gunships and mortar fire.
The demonstration was ended by Exercise Closing Ceremony with a parade led by Major Hisham bin Haji Mahmud. Colonel Jeffrey A. Vanatwerp, Deputy Commanding General Operations was invited to deliver his speech and followed by the handing over back of the unit's flag by the Deputy Commanding Officer of 3Bn TDDB to the Executive Officer of 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry USARPAC. The ceremony continued with a closing speech by the Deputy Commander of RBLF which touched on the objectives of the exercise was completed with the achievement of its intended outcome. The integrated training was aimed to promote professional bilateral engagements and mutual understandings as well as to foster stronger bonds and cultural understandings between the two armies. The event then concluded with an exchange of mementoes by both parties and a group photo session.
The PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022 is the second iteration of a similar exercise which was held in 2018.
TENTERA DARAT DIRAJA BRUNEI DAN UNITED STATES ARMY PACIFIC MENGUKUHKAN PERSAHABATAN DI EKSESAIS PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022
PENANJONG GARISON, Khamis, 23 Jun 2022 – Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (TDDB) dan United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) telah menamatkan Eksesais Pahlawan Warrior 2022 pada hari ini bertempat di FFABinturan, Penanjong Garison.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat ialah Kolonel Azman bin Haji Bangkol, Timbalan Pemerintah TDDB. Turut hadir untuk menyaksikan upacara tersebut adalah Yang Mulia Jeffrey S. Barrus, Charge D Affaires United States Embassy, Ketua Staf TDDB, Deputy Commanding General of Operations USARPAC, Pegawai-pegawai Kanan, Pegawai-pegawai dan anggota daripada TDDB serta USARPAC.
Upacara dimulakan taklimat mengenai perancangan dan pelaksanaan Eksesais Pahlawan Warrior 2022 di Padang Tembak IBSR yang disampaikan oleh Mejar Daud bin Etim, Timbalan Pegawai Pemerintah 3Bn TDDB sebelum beredar ke padang tembak FFA untuk taklimat operasi dan menyaksikan demonstrasi Live Firing Exercise.
Di padang tembak FFA, taklimat operasi bagi pertunjukan Live Firing Exercise telah disampaikan oleh Mejar Nor Mohammad Saufi @ Nikmat bin Ahmad, Pemangku Pegawai Operasi 3Bn TDDB. Serangan pada kali ini menggunakan konsep Combined Assault melalui udara, laut dan darat oleh helikopter Blackhawk untuk Heliborne Troops, Armored Personnel Carrier untuk Tentera Bermotor dan Bot Serangan Cepat untuk Pasukan Riverine. Serangan ke atas objektif musuh telah berjaya dilaksanakan dengan sokongan tembakan daripada sniper, heavy machine-gun, helicopter gunship dan mortar fire.
Upacara penutup eksesais disempurnakan dengan perbarisan kawad yang diketuai oleh Mejar Hisham bin Haji Mahmud diikuti dengan ucapan yang disampaikan oleh Kolonel Jeffrey A. Vanatwerp, Deputy Commanding General Operations USARPAC dan kemudian diikuti dengan penyerahan kembali bendera unit oleh Timbalan Pegawai Pemerintah 3Bn TDDB kepada Executive Officer of 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry USARPAC. Upacara diteruskan dengan ucapan penutup oleh Timbalan Pemerintah TDDB yang mana beliau menyentuh mengenai pencapaian objektif yang diharapkan dari latihan tersebut tercapai dengan hasil yang baik. Latihan bersepadu ini bertujuan untuk menggalakkan penglibatan secara professional dua hala dan persefahaman bersama serta memupuk ikatan dan persefahaman budaya yang lebih kukuh antara kedua-dua tentera.
PAHLAWAN WARRIOR 2022 merupakan Latihan kedua yang serupa diadakan pada tahun 2018.
